Darice Studio 71 Portable Sketching Art Set, 29 Pieces

I went back and forth between four and five stars with this. I wanted to give it four because what's included is not the highest quality art supplies I've ever encountered, but I eventually went with five because I'm pretty sure that's the point. I mean when we bought this 80 piece set, it was on sale for like $12. What more can you ask for? It comes with a nice variety of art equipment - really nice drawing pencils, colored pencils, pastels, paints, etc. The case is nice and sturdy and holds everything in place very well. Thus far I've used the drawing pencils, colored pencils, and pastels and found them all more than satisfactory, although I will say I prefer Crayola colored pencils to the ones provided in this case. I do like that they're organized by color group though - that's pretty cool. I'm not an artist and don't require or expect the highest quality supplies, and even I was pleasantly surprised by how nice this set was. I think you actually get MORE than you pay for in this case, and therefore I find it worth the price! Enjoy!

My daughter is in constant art mode so this is perfect. It has quite a few options on what type of art she wants to do at the time. This has kept her busy for months! We got this as a Christmas present for my youngest son and he absolutely loves it. I'm not sure why people are complaining about the quality. Yes, it's a cheap set, but for the price, it's definitely worth the money. After all these months, my son is still enjoying his set and can carry it around with him. This is a perfect set for a beginner and I'd buy it again! For the price it got the job done to keep kids entertained for few weeks. I wasnt expecting a lifelong product for this price and if you are then you need a cup of coffee to wake up. Overall, I say this is a good set. I wouldn't recommend it for an adult, I would say spend some more money and get a quality set. But for a child, this is more than fantastic. They can work right along side of you and do all the things that you can do. They can also work independently because all of this is set up so they don't need an adult to help them. We've had a lot of fun with our set and it has lasted a long time, as well, so we have definitely gotten our moneys worth out of it.I would recommend this product.

I bought this at a museum in Florida. I've had it for years and take it with me while traveling as I have everything I need in one spot. The only thing missing are felt tip markers but that's no big deal. While taking a mixed media art class it was a godsend to have everything I need at my fingertips. Great for the starting and already-on-the-way artist. I feel the quality of this art set products are very very good. Wonderful gift for the holidays. The wooden box is high quality as well, keeps everything nice and tidy and protected. While we all can be snobs about the best art products, I feel this one is very good and I'm a hard sell and a discerning person. It's only art, not brain surgery so get over it.

I did not have any high expectations for the case but it looked pretty decent based on the description, reviews, and provided pictures. The case/wood smells extremely nice and makes up for some of the other issues that I will dive into. The hinges look like the case has been dropped 50 times because the screws/hinges seem to be coming out and damaging the wood that it's screwed into. I expect the case to break in half pretty soon because of this. I don't know why slightly thicker wood and better screws were not used, especially since the overall price would not be affected much.Each tool sits on a plastic holder, which is really annoying for holding things because it comes out/falls out often. The paint brushes fell out upon my first time opening the case and they would not fit in their respective spots, almost requiring force that could damage the plastic to push it back in.Even though the case has some downsides it's price and general wood quality/small really makes up for the issues. You could give this to your children and it would provide them a whole art arsenal for drawing or whatever art class needs they have. Even in highschool this kit would have been useful because it contains the specific tools you need for advanced classes.Pulling out a case like this will outclass most the amateurs, but don't expect professionals to be impressed. Like I said, it's not bad when it comes to what tools are provided, just bear in mind you might want to be a bit more gentle with the case from what I can tell.

I got this for my daughter for Christmas and she loved it. It is perfect for young beginners when are practicing shading and coloring blending. This set lasted her a while.

The quality of this art kit is amazing. The pastels are really good. The watercolor cakes are a bit thin but that's okoverall this is a great art kit for kids and professionals. Totally recommend
