Great read !
This took place in "our neck of the woods". Great read about one of the names that I've heard for years, and have been a fan of Dave Baake for 40 years. Dave has a great way of telling a story. Absolutely loved this book !

He loved the book
We spend a lot of time down in the area this book talks about! My teenage son couldn’t wait to read it and hear the stories from way back! He loved the book!

Not so great....
In my mind, any book on duck hunting and it's history is worth a read. That's basically as far as I can recommend this book. It's very short, even shorter with the large print and margins. I hoped the content of the book would justify the price. I read it cover-to-cover in two sittings; basically I just wanted to get through it rather than being drawn to it. I really wish I could say better because I'd like to see more history of the sport. But, this appears to be a book of yarns by Mr Lamm transcribed as the book and not well edited. It would be better suited as a series of magazine articles. I guess the description of the book led me to expect more than it delivered.

Review of the book "Last of the Market Hunters" by Dale Hamm
I purchased this book for a friend of mine and he told me that he could hardly put it down. He had met the author and he had hunted the areas described by Mr. Dale Hamm. Regards, Dick Friedel

OK book
Thought the book was just OK. A bunch of short stories about how Hamm outlawed on various properties in Illinois, even though the need wasn't there later on in life.
