Unit fine. Metal rod is useless.
The unit is excellent value for money. All leads are long enough to reach where they should quite easily. However, the disadvantage is the metal rod. The screw to join both sections did not fit the hole properly and once inserted I was unable to tighten it fully. The point that has to be inserted into the ground is flat, making it very difficult to put into the ground. I needed to stand on the screw and use body weight to do so, not ideal when the two joined sections were not fully secured. The other option is to dig a hole every time you move the unit - not atall convenient. I have reverted back to my old `Shepherd` as this has a pointed stem and is far easier to use. The new unit will be used as a last resort.
