Original Album Classics

I hate to admit it but, until purchasing this 5 album collection, I've never owned any full length albums in Molly Hatchet's discography. The only Molly Hatchet album I had in my collection previously was a budget bin "best of" disc that only had a handful of songs.I got in a Molly Hatchet mood a while back and started checking out their complete works via Youtube. I was pretty impressed by the deep cuts on many of their albums and said to myself, "you've got to get some 'Hatchet!"When I saw this collection I knew it was the way to go. It contains what I consider (after many a Youtube listening session), the best five albums Molly Hatchet has in their discography. I'm sure some long time fans will disagree; my apologies to them. Personally, I really enjoyed virtually everything on these five albums: 1978 debut, Flirtin' with Disaster, Beatin' the Odds, Take No Prisoners and No Guts...No Glory.I tend to be a completist so I very well may go out and grab the rest of their catalog very soon! This is a great value from Sony Music. I think it amounts to roughly $5 per cd at the time I purchased this...money well spent. I have a few collections of this type and find it a nice way to gather a solid piece of a band's discography on a budget. The only objection is that some of the print on the sleeve reproductions is literally too small to read! A booklet with some liner notes would be nice but, to keep the price down, I don't mind the missing bonuses of that sort. I really just wanted the tunes. Molly Hatchet is also famous for having some great artwork on their albums (many by renowned artist, Frank Frazetta). The sleeve reproductions, though tiny, are indeed faithful to the original album covers.

Probably one of my favorite sets. I grew up listening to molly hatchet, mostly on the radio, but this box set is AWESOME! Talk about talent. Who knew these guys produces such great songs. I’ve listened to all the cd’s numerous times especially when working out. Do yourself a favor—- spend the $$. You will not be disappointed!

Previously sent Seller 3 Star Feedback concerning 1 of 5 CD's that is defective with NO Response - the Molly Hatchet-Molly Hatchet CD is NOT Fully Formatted concerning Song(s) Description and MIX> just song numbers 1 thru 9 listed and NO Titles of Songs Formatted - the quality of audible sound is lousy, just almost plain flat lousy - as they say no mix quality control <have to buy third party software to address this issue - even when selecting Equalizer Preset Bass Booster> this helps a little but still NOT sufficient, when turning up Volume on Computer or Portable Speaker the Audible song track just BLARES almost PLAIN and is ANNOYING, I think this would not be an issue if cd, computer to micro card to portable speaker was ALL ANALOG - my opinion at times is Music should have stayed Analog - on the positive the other 4 CD's are up to par concerning mix... - but still disappointed in purchase concerning quality of 1 cd - JRalph

I was pretty excited to get the first five MH albums in one package. They were one of my favorite bands when I was a teenager. As soon as I got the delivery I ripped the disks to mp3 format for the flash drive in my car. The first disk (Molly Hatchet) sounded OK but not exactly how I remembered it. I just chalked it up to how long it's been since I listened to that album. The 2nd disk (Flirtin' With Disaster) was noticeably louder and somewhat distorted. The third disk was the complete opposite, as I had to turn the radio up all the way to hear it. Before I went any further I decided to look at the individual tracks with some music editing software on my computer. Just as I expected the sound levels were all over the place. I've been adjusting them on an individual track basis rather than returning the set out of boredom but if I didn't have the free time right now I would have sent the set back to Amazon for a refund.

Danny Joe Brown's voice sounds like its coming up from his guts. Great lead singer singing great songs. Included cover art is an extra. Still remember wearing a Molly Hatchet t shirt to high school and given the option of turning it inside out or going home to change.

Such a good price for lots and lots of great music! This was a great bargain. I love it!

I had some of the vinyls but now replaced them w/ this classic of the 1st five recordings on CDs. Comes w/ original cover sleeve front & back on each CD. Very pleased w/ this purchase.

Great to have all the cds from the original band. They still stand out as classics today.
