Hummingbird Glass Straws Extra Long 12 inches x 9.5 mm Reusable Straws (4 pack of Orange-Blue-Green-Teal)

I bought these mostly to use in my refillable containers. My main container is a 64 ounce Tal branded bottle ( low rent Yeti) When filled it’s a heavy bottle so I wanted a long straw. Also, I have very sensitive teeth so I need a straw to divert liquid away from the affected teeth.I ordered the 12 inch and feared they would be thin and fragile. No worries these are thick and sturdy!These arrived securely packaged in a pretty box. The straws are thick, beautiful and well made. The colors are bright and beautiful. They are see thru so you can see if they are dirty.They include a small brush to clean the straws. The brush is shorter than the straws. However, just flip the straws around and you can clean the whole length. These would make an amazing , thoughtful and different gift.Here’s what I loved about these straws:* The length is perfect for my large 64 ounce yeti type bottle.* Bright beautiful colors and thick high quality glass.* I have the 12 inch straws. They feel very sturdy and non fragile.* These feel amazing to use. Hard to explain but they feel really good to sip from. The amount of liquid they draw is just perfect. They have a special smoothness that feels great on the lips ... I know I sound nuts , try them for yourself !* The packaging was lovely and secure.* They include a cleaning brush.* These are made in the U.S.A.My one minor quibble :* One straw is slightly shorter than the others . I assume it’s because the straws are handmade.Note: because of length Amazon ships these in a big box.These would make a great gift !

We started using glass straws about 3 years ago, because we were sick of soft plastic and paper straws. The hard plastic were OK, but did taste odd at times, and quality control in China? What toxics might lurk in their plastic straws?From somewhere we heard about glass, but at $5 a straw, we didn't think they were worth it. WRONG!We ended up buying four from American-Made Hummingbird, and we were hooked! Stuff ( smoothies, ice tea, etc.) tastes better with glass straws! Glass is neutral tasting ( some plastic straws taste...like plastic), cool to the taste, and cool, as in trendy. The only headache in this glass straw honeymoon is that they are...GLASS! Glass's big hangup is they are brittle; glass: handle with care!One has to be careful about dropping them on the floor, or dropping heavy glass mugs on them when they're in the sink, on the drying rack next to the sink, or in the dishwasher.Outside of their fragility, it's all joy! Hope y'all like them.

After trying all the reusable straw options, glass is my favorite.They can be used in both hot and cold drinks. I prefer the slight bend at the top.Sturdy and easy to clean either by hand with hot soapy water or in the silverware basket of dishwasher.

Came beautifully packaged, gorgeous colors. Easy to clean. Great for a tall glass. I'll purchase more for gifts they're that nice.

This is the second time I have purchased Hummingbird straws. The first batch (clear straws) I had no issues, so when I decided to share I purchased from Hummingbird again. Unfortunately, this second set (colored) has already had a straw break. What's more - there was no specific incident. The straw was actually in my cup when it snapped. I have dropped two of my clear straws ( or one twice) onto concrete from three to four feet up with no breakage. I don't know if the process of coloring has any impact, but that is the only notable difference. It is very disappointing. I haven't decided whether to send the remaining three back for a refund - my sister-in-law loves the teal colored one. I am hoping it was a one off incident, but I can't give a five star rating.

Is this shipping from china? One straw arrived broken. Item obviously cannot survive long distance travel.

These are pretty much the same as the ones I have used for years that broke over time from dropping while in mason jars.The only thing w/these is the angle is much less and far up on the top where the bend is. So it requires tipping drink more to get to straw when laying down.Also the brush that came w/these is not nearly as nice and snug fitting as came w/last set I got.However, best price I found and way better than using metal or plastic straws.

I got these to replace my stainless steel straws. Trying to stay away from plastic. Beautiful colors, and it doesn’t affect the taste of the drink.
