Wonderful script for adult women age 18- 65
I purchased the script for my daughter to read before auditioning for a production of Steel Magnolias. This is a great play for adult women in a range of ages. She was cast as Annelle and now we have two copies which is perfect for running lines! There are some nice monologues for those Ladies who need them.

Speaks to the Human Condition
The play is so much better than the movie. One of the best, most insightful things that Harling does is to set the whole thing in Truvy's Beauty Shop--a strictly feminine space where women can say whatever they have to say. But in that honesty, they transcend any "chick flick" parochialism and speak deeply to the human condition. Women will connect to these characters in so many ways, but men also will relate to the "in the trenches" aspect of friends who support each other through everything.

Awesome story, awesome product
I bought this because I plan on directing the play later this year. It is a wonderful story about womanhood and will make you laugh and cry. I highly recommend this play, as it is by far one of my favorites. There is a movie version (equally amazing) so if you haven't seen it I recommend watching. (the quality of the book itself is also very nice.) mine arrived 2 days early :)

If you get the headline, you are a Steel Magnolia Devotee. I bought the script for the stage play. Everything takes place in Truvee's beauty shop. It's a fun read. It's paper bound...not fancy, but I loved it.
