After I received a recorder that didn't save an important interview, the seller sent me a new one that arrived within a couple of days. This one does work, and I'm pretty happy with it, with two caveats:1. If you want to save your recording, press the "stop" button TWICE. If you press it once and shut off the machine, it'll be lost. Press it a second time, and the display will say that it's been saved.2, If you want to fast-forward or rewind part of the recording, you can't on the recorder. Rewind will take you back to the beginning. I haven't tried, but I'm assuming that if you download the file, you'll be able to do this on your computer.

While this is a little smaller than I thought it would be, I really love that I can put it in my purse or backpack without added bulk! Another great plus is that audio files are easy to transfer to a PC for use in an auditing program (Garageband or Audacity). The directions don't explain how to do this, so I will add a bit of explanation here:- attach device to computer via USB cord (make sure connection is secure)- see the device pop up on the desktopNote: audio files are default wmv, so need to be converted for use in auditing software (like MP3 or etc.)- open your converting program (free downloads available from Internet - i.e. WMV AVI converter and others)- convert your file and save to desktop- open your audio auditing software application and click and drag the MP3 file into your trackIt's really that simple, and the audio is crisp and clear!

I originally purchased this to record my lectures during class. I haven't started doing that yet but have been using it to record myself reading my book and playing it back. It has a great sound quality and is pretty loud for such a small device. It is super light weight and easy to use. The only reason Im giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I wish you could keep recording on the same trac instead of having to start a new one. Other than that a great product and pics up sound very well.

The outside casing is a little cheaply made, but excellent recording quality. For the money, I don't think you could beat it. Easy to use, simple one button record operation, one button stop, one button review. Recording is indicated by solid red light, comes with all the accessories. Even a lapel mic, which clips to your clothing. I was easily able to record my cell phone on speaker phone. Clear as a bell.

Ordered this recorder for my truck driver husband. He must write down the mileage when he crosses the state lines and writing while driving is dangerous. He just records the mileage and he is good to go.. He told me the recorder works great. He is a happy camper. Great recorder for a great price

My Mom had not been in good health and she had a lot of good stories so I gave her this recorder. It was easy for her to use so she recorded a bunch of stories for me. She passed away earlier this year but thanks to this recorder, I can listen to happy memories in her voice. I'm very grateful.

Bought an IPod a few years ago, but now the battery won't hold a charge longer than an hour. I didn't want to spend all that money on another Apple product. I bought an MP3 player at Best Buy for $75 and returned it the next day. The sound was absolutely horrible!!! So, I went to Amazon and found this product. The sound is just as good, if not better, than the IPod. At a fraction of the price!!! The buttons will take a little getting used to, but I am very happy with this purchase. Definitely would recommend this to anyone.

I got this to record counseling session as part of my curriculum as a counseling intern for my master's. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because when you are reviewing the recordings, sometimes it wouldn't stay at a certain part of the recording as I hoped it would. It would just start over. It only happened a few times, but was annoying.
