The needlepoint kit came with sufficient yarn, an OK needle, a sturdy pre-printed canvas, a nice frame for the end product, and clear instructions. Perfect for my 10-year-old grandson who wanted to learn about sewing and knitting.

We got this for my 5 year old to try. I remember doing these as a kid and thought she'd enjoy some easy needlepoint too. She definitely needs me to sit down and help her most of the time, but she is able to work on it alone for short amounts of time when she's just doing one color. This might be easier for a kid a year or two older to do more independently. The instructions are simple, but I don't think you'd need to know anything else to complete the project. Hours of cheap fun for a detail-oriented kiddo.

The item is recommended for 6+, and I gave this to an 8yo and 11yo. They both were able to work on it by themselves, and enjoyed it immensely. I would probably not give it to any younger kids, unless they have had experience with this sort of thing. Definitely recommend it. Gives them something to DO, not just watch.

Excellent value kit, easy enough for kids with supervision. My 5 year old kept nagging me to let her have a turn when I was doing a cross stitch so I got her this kit. She can’t quite do it by herself (needs help getting the thread started and threading the needle) but she enjoys making stitches, and we will work together on our needlework for a few minutes like Jane Austen characters, which I love. It’s building some nice fine motor skills too.If I would suggest any improvement it would be to include 2 needles instead of just one in the kit - they are easy for kids to lose.

I bought this for my very creative Kindergarten daughter. Very disappointed with the product.1. Even after filling each hole twice, the holes are still wide.2. The colors do not blend enough to give a "picture" feel - If you look at the plastic board, it would look like a heap of threads.3. Unless you are very very systematic and creative how the threads go around, the threads give a totally messed up appearance.4. Really not meant for beginners. You need to be an expert to make sure the money you invest in this product is not wasted.

I bought this as a gift for my 10-yr-old nephew, who is into other fiber crafts like crochet and knitting. Neither of us had tried needlepoint before, and he immediately started working on his kit. The instructions are easy to follow, the yarn comes in pre-cut lengths, it’s a large enough project to last a few days bt small enough that he won’t lose interest before finishing. And a great value for the money! Definitely recommend.

I bought this for my 6 year old daughter for Christmas. For a beginner, this is a pretty cute and fun kit. The plastic canvas is color coded and you can use matching thread to complete the pattern. Instruction is included, but even without it, it is easy to work on.The reason of just 1 star is because (1) the plastic needle is too frimsy. It was easily bend, and (2) there were not enough thread to complete. We ran out of red and blue. My daughter was so disappointed when we realized we didn't have enough thread and cannot complete.FYI. I bought another ALEX needlepoint kit (different pattern) and that one didn't have enough thread either.

easy to follow along, the canvas is the perfect size if you need to buy a replacement plastic needle. Some of these kits have super small holes and the needles barely fit or don't fit at all.

This was a gift for my baby sister. she definitely loved it. it is also very child friendly which was important. no harmful needles, just a blunt ended one. A good choice to get your children on the creative path.
