Too short for XJ front doors

Installed this last night expecting to have to cut a few inches off and it ended up being ~1.5" too SHORT! I purchased this after doing some research and finding that the Fairchild D3051 was the one to get. Also, the bulb is quite large and requires the door to be slammed very hard in order for the door to latch and even then the door is bulged out from the rest of the body lines. I'm hoping that a little time and use will compress it a bit. Overall very disappointed in this purchase.
