Best fit pit purchase for lots of use.
I live in Key West where weather elements a hard. Took the owner's advice on whether to heat paint it or not. I treated my and no rust over a year old. Order this and enjoy a life time of enjoyment.

It is better when you accessorize it
I would give this fire pit a higher rating if it wasn't so basic. I have yet to use it, but probably will tonight. It seems to be of a very sturdy design with nice heavy gauge steel which should last for years unlike the cheap Chinese crap they sell on Amazon and in the stores.By basic, I mean that it has no versatility. No handles, no wheels, and the screen cover they sell for it is over the top expensive. If people want the mobility to use it in different locations in their yard, it is not very well suited for moving around. Here is what I did to overcome that.I bought a 2ft x 2ft piece of half inch plywood, and covered it using screws and high temp glue with a 2 x 2 piece of sheet metal I bought at Home Depot. I painted it with high temp paint rated at 2000 degrees. I drilled a hole through the base of the pit at each of the 4 sides and I clamped it to the plywood heat shield using U bolts through the base holes I drilled. I bought a decent set of wheels at HD and attached them to the plywood base. I bought 2 metal handles and bolted them through holes I drilled on the rim of the pit. I painted the exterior of it with the same high temp paint. I now have a pit that I can easily move by the handles and locate it with ease anywhere in my yard.As for the screen, I bout a 30 inch dome type screen on Amazon. The fit was not precise, but I expected that. I bought a flat piece of metal stock about an inch wide, and cut 2 inch pieces and bent them to 90 degrees and screwed them onto the base rim of the dome and that gave me the footing I need for it to be stable on the pit.Throw in a 22 inch grill grate in the pit and you now have a surface for the wood and an air passage to flow under the fire.

Best fire pit ever. Lasts.
I love this fire pit. It has sat outside for 2.5 years now, and it still works and looks great (although now a brown color from some rust). We use it very frequently during spring, summer and fall. On average probably every other week.In addition to lasting even when sitting out in the rain, it looks great, and it's a joy to have a fire in. Unlike the no-smoke high-heat fire pits from solo, in this pit you actually see the flames and get the satisfaction of managing the fire by pushing around the logs as needed. I'm about to get the cooking grate from Ohio Flame to match the fire pit.

Utilitarian, well-made and designed, attractive.
This thing is the real deal. We love camping and campfires and wanted to be able to duplicate that in our backyard. Without seeing it in person, I was worried the 30" might be on the small side. Turns out 30" is plenty for what I was looking for and will easily house a hot, campfire ring sized fire with plenty of extra room to move around standard logs. I think most folks will find the to be a great size. It will start rusting right away with the slightest night time moisture, so expect that to be part of the aesthetic, although I find the simple utilitarian form, heavy steel, and rusting to be attractive. I would recommend sitting it on something to avoid a rust ring on your patio. On a flagstone patio a simple solution is to go to the landscape yard and buy a small piece of extra flagstone to put under the base. It's heavy; a strong person with awareness for back form could move this themselves, but otherwise move with two people. I was wondering about tipping and balance, but after seeing it in person it's not a concern. If you're looking for a simple, quality fire-pit this is a great choice.

Solid
It is great for what we wanted. We just wanted a solid (thick) fire bowl for the back outside patio. Most of the fancy fire pit units have very thin metal and I am sure they will wear out (or rust out) sooner than later. It's hard to find just good solid functional things these days. This fits that need. I also like that it is USA made. The shipping box was incredibly basic, but then again, there really is no way to damage this thing in shipping (it's a freaking solid steel bowl welded completely to a smaller solid steel bowl on the bottom). You don't get a lot of heat to the sides unless the wood is stacked up above the rim level, but that's just logical thermodynamics (most of the heat rises). Very pleased.

wow
This beast is hand made. Thick, stable, and sturdy. Nice welds and hole for drainage looks hand torched (adds character, not being "laser" cut). 30" was plenty big enough for 6-8 adults to sit around and keep warm on a 42 degree Michigan Fall evening. I was concerned that airflow under the wood without a grate or something on the bottom would be an issue, but it wasn't. I have never been great about cleaning out, covering, or storing my sub $100 fire pits in the past, so they always rust out and I am forces to purchase a new one every couple years. This will not be the case anymore. This thing will last decades and save me money in the long run. Added bonus, give a good tap the side of this pit (when it is empty) with your metal fire poker and you got a dinner bell that will rival your local church bell.

Sturdy and unique
After our firepit rusted out after 3 years, I wanted something that would last. This firepit seems very well made. After 2 uses, it's developing a tarnished patina. We'll see if it starts to rust in a few weeks. It makes a "church bell sound" when hit on the side, so it's going to be our dinner bell signal. I bought a 24" steel grate from "steelfreaks" which fits perfectly. Making a fire was very easy and it's easy to clean. We got alot of compliments on it this weekend.
