This is the first book I read about yachting when I joined the industry and have kept it on each boat I've worked as a well-used reference.Julie's step-by-step of how-to-get-a-job-on-a-yacht and what to expect should be read by everyone entertaining the idea of jumping on board. I never read a book so fast in my life. This book was so helpful to get a clear understanding on how to get into the yachting industry and becoming a stewardess. My favorite parts are the I Must Confess sections throughout the book (I wish there was more!). I always enjoy hearing about people's experiences. There was humor throughout the chapters which really kept me intrigued in reading. Being a writer myself for a local boating magazine in New York, I always try to add humor to my stories. People love to laugh, and you will most likely laugh when reading Julie's book! I definitely recommend reading this to whoever is interested in this line of work. If you are not interested, then you can still get great stories and information about the yachting life. I really want to become a stewardess because being out on the water and on boats is my passion. I just have to finished college first and then I am on my way at starting my future in the yachting industry. I will have this book along side me to help me through the path to success!Thank you Julie Perry for writing this book! I really enjoyed it!

I have Julie's book in my waiting area at the bank and many people come in to talk about a loan and their first question is about Julie's book! There have been at least 2 college age girls that have bought the book and even reached out to Julie to at book signings concerning her experiences and their desire to follow in her footsteps.The informative parts of the book are great for people that are interested in a career and the personal stories are fun for anyone. My favorite story is one that involves an "Academy Awards Night Gone Awry" in Chapter 5!

This is a great resource and thoroughly answered all of my questions about this industry! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking into yachting, even though its old it still seems to have up to date information according to the research I've been doing.

I have been really looking into yachting so I knew around what to expect but this book really lays it all out there the before during and after of what to expect.

I'll never be part of a yacht crew, but it was delightful to read about the yacht-crew life, which was well documented and authoritatively presented. I believe if I were contemplating a career in yachting, I'd have found this book helpful, not least because of the redundancies and details that I actually skipped in my own reading.

Been reading this for a while now, loving the wealth of information given, in a light and fun way to read, covers everything from heads to beds!would recommend as a good read for any first timer, like myself, it's giving me a full view of the industry I'm about to dive into, and lots of useful tips too!

Great book with real practical advice.

This is a great book for someone interested in a yachting career! The author has gone to much length to provide up to date information and if possible there is almost too much information! It is truly fantastic! I'd like to have read more of the first-hand experiences! Well-written, great layout and good value! A must for anyone wanting to become a yachtie!

Great read, super informative, lots of great resources. Really enjoyable to read as well, not filled with jargon, everything is explained and lots of pro tips!
