TV Lamp
When the lamp went out on our DLP T.V. I called the place we bought the T.V. from. They had me call anotherstore. The cost of the lamp was ridiculous, so I went on line to Amazon and found this lamp.Same part number as the burned out one of ours, and almost $200 cheaper. We received it within the time they said, installed it easily and it works perfectly. My last one lasted 5 years, I am hoping this will last for at least 1/2 thattime. I can't give it 5 stars as I have only had it for about a month. I would like to see how long it works before I give ahigher rating.

So far so good.
I've had this lamp for a few months now and its still working bright. The TV turned off once by itself but I think that was issue i was having with the timer. Other than that It works great. You cant beat the price. I bought one other lamp from another seller on amazon, but that one started fading out really quick. This one is still going strong. If I had to buy again it would be from this seller, so long as it lasts at least a year.

Inspect carefully before installing
This is not OEM, but a suitable substitute and very well priced (you could get several of these for the price of one OEM.) It fits dimensionally into the TV, but the components of an original and this replacement lamp box are not compatible. I mention this because mine arrived with inside damage (details deeper in review) even though it came well packaged. I first thought I could move the lamp bulb from new box to original, but the bulb is a bit thicker on the edges and would not settle into position with the screw in 'dog ears'. The damage to the box was minor - part of the plastic corner had broken off near where the knob screws through. Attempts to secure it with a plastics model glue and super-type glue failed - the plastic that this is made from is one that can't be glued. At any rate, I was able to secure the lamp box into the TV and experience a vastly improved picture.I would buy this again, but will inspect it more closely next time or possibly buy two, so as to have one on-hand when the next one fails or begins to diminish. At the current price (less than $40), I might replace the lamp annually or semi-annually.

Lamp assy for Mitsi DLP TV
Prices on these have sure come down since I bought the set 4 years ago, didn't mind paying $80 for the new lamp assy at all. I paid the extra $10 to have it delivered next day, I am local to several of Amazon's distribution centers. It showed up the next day, about 15 minutes before the deadline at 7:45pm. Not that big a deal, just thought it odd that it left Amazon by courier and was driven around town for nearly 8 hours before they found my house. I can drive from here (Phoenix) to San Diego in 6 hours...LOL.The assy installed easily (already had the old one out and the place it plugs into vacuumed out so it was now dust free.Gotta say that with the new lamp assy, it's like I've got a new TV....sharp, clear, and bright like when it was new. We'll see how this bulb lasts.....I've seen some comments about different bulbs not lasting like the originals, but that would vary a lot depending on how the TV was used and the conditions it was used under. There were other "less expensive" models available, but those were sold/shipped by vendors other than Amazon and were in a variety of brands that didn't get reviews as good as this one.

Size matters.......
The bulb works Great!! However, the housing didn't fit! I tried several different things but was unsuccessful. I removed the bulb and used the old unit, which wasn't a big deal, but I did pay the extra money for the entire housing and bulb. Realizing how easy it was to change the bulb, if it goes again, I will only be purchasing it.The item was delivered quickly right around the holidays which was extremely impressive! I would have to say this lamp is brighter than the one from Mitsubishi!

READ THIS BEFORE BUYING THESE LAMPS!!!!
I like alot of the reviewers here, had the OEM bulb on my Mitsubishi tv last for a LONG time.... Mine lasted roughly 4.5 years, with heavy usage with my stay at home wife watching tv all day, and my kids playing the Wii on it as well. 5 months ago, my OEM bulb went out, and I ordered a bulb from one of the sellers on here claiming it is OEM "compatible" replacement. I thought if I would call the seller up directly, and place the order over the phone, that it would expedite the process. It did, but then the bulb was not backed by amazon. That bulb came with a 90 day warranty, and on day 87, it went out on me. I then contacted that seller, and they sent me a replacement, but also informed me that the replacement bulb came with NO WARRANTY. In order to get my replacement bulb, I had to send the defective one back, and THEN they would send the replacement, which would take about 10-12 business days for all this to transpire. All the while, I didn't have a working tv......... I then decided to buy another bulb, this time thru amazon, which came with a 180 day warranty. I place that order on November 17th, 2011, and that bulb went out last night December 27th, 2011. I then contacted Amazon and they said they would give me a full refund, AFTER they receive the defective bulb, and that I can just purchase a new bulb again. The new ones are $8 more, but they said they would sell me a new one for my original price. Fortunately, I do have the original replacement bulb that was warrantied, so I have a working tv.I don't know about your TV set up, but mine is not the easiest to get to the backside to replace the bulb. I would prefer not having to do it every 2-3 months.Basically, what I am saying, is that YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR WITH THESE "OEM - COMPATIBLE" BULBS. I am planning on biting the bullet, and spending the money on the actual OEM bulb from Mitsubishi, and hopefully, that one will last just as long as the original. IF it does, it will be money well spent.
