Great pair of arms for macro or short-distance portrait lights
I bought this bracket because I was needing a way to mount small LED panels (CN-160) to a flexible platform for on and off camera use. If you combine them with Movo grids, you can do almost anything for macro tabletop and short range portraiture that you can dream up, These are really perfect way to mount a pair of lightweight kit with a 1/4" female mounts or cold hot shoe feet which are easily removable. The foot long arms while new are pretty stiff (for now) to hold a 16 oz LED panel and the ball are reasonably tight friction fit, and do have a way to lock in place at a 90 degree angle from the arm, but not tight enough to prevent twisting (thus one star off). I did manage to fit my largest panel, a 300 LED F&V ring light onto one of the arms, as long as the light is mounted such that it doesn't strain the joints locally (it's much easier to adjust and get right than it sounds) If you tighten the ball head sufficiently, they seem to hold on to the mini-heads without moving. Again, the mini-heads are not the best design for holding things absolutely still, but certainly good enough for small weight payloads like LED panels and grids. You can see that I even used my Ring light and a 320 LED Polaroid panel light together.

Eliminates the need for a bunch of stands!
This thing is awesome. We used it for a photo-booth for a company party and attached two light to it and it help up like a champ. It really helped to eliminate the need for a bunch of stands sitting everywhere for people to trip over. We used an iPad holder on it instead of a camera and it fit just fine on the screw. I actually added hot-shoe adapters so that I could just screw on the lights and it still held on. The bending arms are tight enough so it will hold a fairly large amount of weight without moving and it will stay in place. We will use it again for sure! Highly recommend this product. My order came in faster than expected, however this flash hold is too weak to hold my speed light with wireless trigger. It would not stay in position, just kept falling down. The ball/socket was also weak. Flash would spin even after tightening the ball joint as tight as I could. I use a Yongnuo 568ex. This product just wasn't strong enough. It may work for a lighter cheaper speed light w/o wireless trigger set up. I'm dissappointed, but I also understand I get what I pay for.

mmmmhmmm
The actual unit is awesome heavy duty but the "360 hot shoes on the ends are very week when screw locked. Still if your only usesing a Mic or small strobe light weightu should be fine

Disposable Junk that Quickly Breaks
I've used these arms about 5 times in the field to hold small dual flash heads. A metal wire runs through the arms. Once the wire has been bent enough times to fatigue, it simply breaks and the arm falls apart. I suppose for $24 it works well if you position the arms 1 time and leave them there, but not if you actually need to frequently bend them.

This is a nice piece of gear at a great price
This is a nice piece of gear at a great price.I holds two small flashes and my Canon 60D with no problems. If you're planning to attach heavy flash units to this device, you may have problems with the arms staying in position, but you don't need such flashes for macro work.Highly recommended.

Buy something else
Had low expectations based on the price and it did not meet even that low bar. Useless to hold a flash in any stable position. Flops around like a fish on a line. One of the connection plates snapped off also, to put it out of its misery.

Broke within the first ten minutes of use. You get what you pay for, I guess.

Very Bad Quality
1. I used two small flashes (Canon EX270ii) and the flash ball head knobs didn't have the grip, they kept sliding down and I couldn't keep the flashes in the desired angle.2. Squeaky sound from both arms. One arm was a little flexible and the other was very stiff.3. The stiff arm broke at the base joint after a couple of minutes.

Work great with small flash like the canon 270ex or the NW-610II Mini. Any bigger flash might not hold it's position.Pro great holding for small flash + RF remote.Work really great for macro.

Much better than I was expecting with such a reasonable price
Much better than I was expecting with such a reasonable price. The arms are very strong and can hold a full size flash like a SB700 no problem.
