Needs work
Like many people, somewhere around mid March 2020 I was forced into WFH. With that, my existing chair was old, breaking down, and torturous on my body. Enter: the GTPOffice Gaming Chair.I had diligently tried to do my research and find a chair that would offer plenty of ergonomics for my new working environment, while also providing a nice experience for gaming and TV watching "after work". It *seemed* that when it came down to spending endless hours in a seat, a gaming chair would be the no-brainer winner over a stuffy office chair. Yeeaahh...The Good:The chair appeared to be decent quality out of the box, and assembly was a fairly low-effort exercise. The height adjustment, armrest adjustment, and recline all seemed to provide a wide range of settings. The wheels roll well on carpet, the lumbar support and neck pillows are nice, and the thing just plain looks sweet. Sounds good, right? "So Jay, why only three stars???"The Bad:The armrests, oh the humanity! They're made from a sort of rubberized plastic foam, so they give a little bit. However, after even 30 minutes in the seat, my elbows begged for mercy. Though they give, it's not nearly enough to prevent moderate to severe discomfort. In addition to that, the texture is very rough, akin to low-grit sandpaper. Extended use has seen the skin on my forearms reddened in color, due to the irritation from the harsh material. To solve this issue, I resorted to purchasing a pair of memory foam armrest pads, which help immensely. The other major issue is the padding on the seat, itself. When you're putting to the chair together, it feels fairly dense and substantial. And even after using it for a short while, that impression remains. However, extended use will find the cushion compressing quite a bit, leaving your hind quarters feeling like it's in direct contact with the wooden base of the seat. After leaving the seat for a while, it seems to expand back to it's original shape (at least now, two months in), but after sitting in it again for a short while, the flattening doesn't take long. I should point out that I don't weigh anywhere near what the maximum stated capacity is for this seat, as I'm generally 175-180. Also, the seat, itself, is pretty shallow, meaning that the front does not support the whole thigh to the back of the knees. Mind you, I'm not a big guy (under 5'10"). Another point is that the thigh bolsters are quite uncomfortable, as mentioned by other reviewers. I don't really see the point of them in a gaming chair, as it's not like you will be subjected to the same G forces while seated in your home as you would be rounding a tight corner in a race car. They're pointless, with the unfortunate effect of making the usage experience worse. Finally, while I am pretty impressed by the generous recline angles, I do think it to be fairly useless to be able to lay out flat without a way to elevate your feet. Think about it: have you ever seen a recliner (La-Z-Boy or otherwise), capable of near-180 degree reclining that didn't include a footrest? Just sayin...Additional Thoughts:This chair has not been the most awesome one I've owned. That said, I'm willing to concede that my intention of using it for work instead of just a gaming/lounging chair may have skewed my impression of it. After further research and consideration, I've come to the impression that those plain, stark, and uncomfortable-looking mesh office chairs are probably the best for the intended purpose. Most have padded armrests, and the lack of a cushion in the seat prevents cushion deterioration over time. Lastly, I've noticed that most reputable gaming chairs come in near twice as much as this one. While I haven't had an opportunity to test the theory, I'm more and more believing that the old adage holds up: you get what you pay for. That said, if what you need is an ergonomic office chair, get an ergonomic office chair. One size does not fit all, at least, not in this particular application. Conclusion:This chair has some nice features, and seems to be well made. It's not a terrible chair, however, it could truly benefit from improvements in some key areas. I truly think those improvements would elevate this product from "just okay" to "great".

Great Chair for the Value! Perfect for the average gamer!
Overall I truly enjoy this chair. As I write this review, I believe the best way to rate this product is to base it off the following, Comfort, Support, Design, and Functionality.- Comfort overall is great, arm rests are padded as is the back and seat. Back of chair comes with extra padding for neck and lower lumbar support. Wish the seat had more padding but not terrible. (I imagine in time it will flatten out though)- Support is Fantastic! The back is designed to support your posture when sitting and you can feel the firm metal frame under the padding. Seat has the perfect shape for sitting however IMO needs more padding.- Design of the chair is ascetically pleasing and looks great next to my battle station, Chair is adjustable for height and also leans back similarly to a car seat. Arm rest can be raised and also tilted out of the way to the Right and left if space is neededFunctionality - This is probably the reason I gave it 4 stars - The arm rests are adjustable side to side and often the arm rest will move out of position at the slightest pressure on either side. Kinda of annoying when you use arm rest to position yourself and they move away from you causing you to slip. Also you cant move you chair by holding the armrest as they will no be fixed positions / However preforms as advertised and made my gaming way more enjoyableIn conclusion, overall a great chair for the value if you looking for something a passive gamer may like.

Doesn't seem to support as much weight as advertised.
Like a lot of people, I started working from home in 2020. I did not have a proper desk chair and knew I wanted a "gaming" style chair because of the high back and they just look cool. I didn't have the spare funds for something from secrets labs so I found this highly rated chair on Amazon for a pretty low price and decided to jump on the last color they had available. Something to note: I'm a big guy and weighed about 250 when quarantine started and this chair is supposed to support up to 330.Chair arrived and I put it together pretty easily but there were a few things I noticed right off the bat. The chair felt really wobbly. Its got weight to it but somehow still felt like it was moving much more than it should. The other big thing I noticed is that the arms rests are quite low and cannot lock in place left and right-wise. The also click quite audbily when moved, which is often since they dont lock. The final thing to note is that the seat is narrow. If you're a bigger person like me, the hard edges of the seat cushion will rub against your outter thighs.I decided to just deal with these minor annoyances. Sadly, after about 2 months of regular use, the chair started lowering on its own. At first I decided to just deal with it since I could just raise it back up but then it happened so much that I didnt even want to sit in it. I gained some quarentine weight but I was still pretty far from their posted limit of 330. Anyway. I finally reached out to thw company and they sent me a new gas lift. Problem is, the old one is in so tight I had to ask them to also send a whole lift mechanism. That worked for a month or so and here we are back to the chair lowering on its own. Im going back and forth with their email support but they keep asking if I want a new part. Also worth noting that my wife and kids use this without an issue so maybe the weight limit is much lower than they posted....which is still their issue. If you're a bigger person, maybe just spring for a good office chair or save up for a quality gaming chair that can support us big fellas ;)
