Some reviews were less then encouraging. Skeptical when I purchased but to my surprise it was pretty decent time will tell after some use. But for the price I'm not disappointed yet.

Despite the claims that this helmet is compact and low profile, it IS NOT. The picture is of a Medium and X-Small which are both the same physical size except the massive amount of inner lining. Either helmet could be a Large or possibly X-Large just by reducing the inner lining size.I ordered a Medium and X-Small and both had the same identical outter shell size which was large enough to serve as a Large orr X-Large. I normally wear a Large and the wife wears a Small size but followed the sizing recommendations which stated to order a size smaller if our measurements were at the minimum for a particular size. The helmets arrived and are physically identical in size with different sized inner shells. My Medium is huge on my head and my 5'2" wife's "X-Small" is MASSIVE on her. Selling helmets in different sizes by simply filling the inside padding to make it smaller is dishonest!Other than the bogus sizing, the helmets are well constructed and again, despite the description stating that the helmets have D-ring strap closures, the helmets came wi Ratchet Quick Release buckes installed. That's great except I ordered 2 Quick Release buçkles at $15 each to replace the D-Rings that the Daytona Factory Azon account claimed it had.So the real issue is false advertising. The helmet quality is fine. The description is not accurate!

Very well made helmet but the sizing chart was way off for proper fit. I normally wear and XL helmet and this one was way to small, actually fit my daughter and the reason I kept it.

I am Very Concerned!! I bought this HAWK helmet because it was advertised as a DOT approved safety helmet. When the box from Daytona Helmets arrived, it came with this printed on the outside: "WARNING This collectors item does not meet Department of Transportation specifications. It is not to be used on any motorized vehicles. It is not designed to be a safety helmet and does not protect your head on impact." WTF?? Is thisa DOT approved, safety helmet as advertised or a "Collectors item" toy which provides NO protection? . . . Is this legal disclaimer true? Amazon should investigate this! On the positive side, the helmet fits fine, but the chin strap is uncomfortable. I thought it would be a snap on-off.I will use this helmet as a bicycle helmet, so I'll probably keep it. I would NOT have ordered it if I knew before of the WARNING and chin Strap. Customers should wear a helmet with confidence that it will protect their head, not worry if it is safe.

This has been a great helmet that lasts and lasts. Flexibility of being worn backwards if you so desire. Great size for a legak DOT.

Good quality, but smaller than Large in other brands. If you need large, order extra large. sized smaller than other helmets, so small it caused me a headache.

Love this new helmet the shape is modern without being bulbous. Although all half helmets have a tendency toward “Mushroom” head this one has an elongated polo shape reducing the mushroom effect somewhat. The Medium fits nice seems snug but not overly so. Very happy with this purchase the price, look, and quality are beyond my expectations. I wish they made it in a flat steel grey I would but it again!👍👍👍

It’s a very nice helmet. It’s sized smaller than most helmets I have worn. I had to return because it was too small.
