And then why Cognac and Cuban Cigars? Believe me, one deep breath and you will know. The fragrance is not heavy and over-scented as so many hand-made soaps are these days. It is a smooth blend of the richness of tobacco (not the burned kind) with a very light addition of the essence of cognac. Another reviewer pointed out that it doesn't have a dominant cognac aroma and they are very correct. Cognac can be overpowering as so many rum based products have proven and you don't want this the first thing in the morning when you are just preparing for the day. But it is there and the smooth addition to the tobacco makes this one incredible shaving experience. The lubrication provided by H et V is remarkable. I was using another hand-made product previously and the very noticeable difference is how easily my razor glides over my face and how protective the lather performed in the delicate areas. It is amazing and reduces the need for TP (if you know what I mean).While you can find other shaving soaps at slightly lower prices, you will definitely not be disappointed in your purchase of Henri et Victoria's Cognac and Cuban Cigars. A very masculine scent as well as a rich and protective lather that will make your morning shave one of the highlights of your day.

Great smelling shaving soap. Tends to dry out quickly on your face so lather it up a bit wet.

I tried quite a few soaps before I stumbled upon the Cognac and Cubans. When I tried to reorder it was out of stock, so I tried the Duc de Santal version. Though barely, it is now my favorite. Both have great scents that are not overpowering but last quite a while, especially when paired with the aftershave. The soap lubricates better for me than the tallow soaps I've used. The lasting but subtle scent may be my next favorite thing. I'm not one to smell like I bathe in fragrance, and these products preform quite well.

pretty spendy for a shaving cream BUT WOW, what a fragrance/smell it has..... I opened it and smelled it a half dozen times and finally went in and shaved with it..... it's been a while (a good hour and a half) and it's still hanging in the air and on my face..... AS ADVERTISED- smells great before you start, during the setup and shave and afterwards... if it lasts a significant amount of time I'll return to this review and tell how long it lasted but I don't want to put on my lime after shave for fear of masking this fantastic smell.... I'm afraid I'll have to reorder this shaving cream even though it's spendy.... btw, it doesn't take much to get a good lather on your brush but the moisture doesn't last a super long time, maybe more water on the brush would solve that, I'll try it the next shave...... I decided I like the smell so much I don't want to mask it with my lime after shave so I ordered the even more expensive- ' Post Shave Balm - Cognac and Cuban Chic Cigars'... I'm hoping the shaving balm is half as nice as the shaving cream........ rci

This is an excellent soap. Makes a thick, rich lather and smells just like the label says. Love it.

The scent is very nice and "masculine". Unfortunately, in my opinion, the soap does not foam well when applied with a badger brush, at least compared to a tallow based soap. For me, this resulted in a shaving experience that was not as well lubricated as I would like.

I've bought this before. Makes shaving more fun with such a great scent.

This my first time buying from this brand, I was a little unsure before, only cause the price but I’m well satisfied with the way it lathered and long lasting scent. After it definitely leaves your face smooth and not dry or anything just smooth. Highly recommend trying this one and I may buy the other ones for a review.

Has a tinge of chemical smell to it. Unlike other soaps. My DE does NOT glide as smooth as other soaps. Really disappointed.

I have no words to describe how good this soap is. The scent (lime) is simply out of this world. Lathers so well, very slick, protect the skin like no other soap. I believe it's made Quebec/Canada so wow, bravo aux artisans!

Straight into the bin. Does not smell natural at all. The smell of chemicals to mimic the smell of sweet cognac and cigar tobacco. The lather was bad my DE can't glide as smooth just like the unscented soap. Disappointed with my 3 items purchased.
