Patina Living

Like all of the Giannetti books this one is also quite beautiful. The description does indicate this is about a newer chapter in their lives with animals on their farm. It includes detail about the various animals and construction of their cages relative to their home. It also includes tips about raising the animals as well as recipes. Being a serious cook and gardener I would not look in a book such as this for those topics. I can get those on line or in magazines. Pictures are very pretty but the book does not offer the decorating/design info I look for and have so enjoyed from Patina Farm.. If you are contemplating incorporating animals into your life or want a beautiful coffee table book then this is a fine selection. If you are interested in design and decorating then stick with their first two books!

I guess I didn’t really know what I was getting into when I ordered this book. I loved the two books prior to this, and I was thinking it would be more of the same. Not exactly. This seemed “fluffier,” much less substance. However, if you’re interested in learning about a day in the life of the Gianettis at Patina Farm, this is a great place to start. I guess I was hoping for more outdoor garden and/or landscape inspiration/guidance.

I love this book (and series)!! Not only does it inspire you to find new views of your own home patina dreams...but it takes you on a soulful journey of discovery. Along with beautiful images at every turn, you will find helpful resources, smart details and great nuggets to mine "next" on your path (whether it is in the entry, kitchen, garden or entertaining.) All with the discerning eye of trusted, gifted designers who understand how (and thoughtfully care ) to share the adventure of evolution of home through cherished family, friends, "pets", careers, deadlines, gardens, tastes, smells, sounds, sunsets, sunrises...through the seasons of life. If you love inspiration from homes, gardens, decor, history, art, entertaining, animals, architecture, design, resorts and winding trails...you will enjoy the pages of Patina Living, repeatedly.

I’ve been a reader and follower of velvet and linens’ blog and IG for years. I own all three of their beautiful books.. the newest Patina Living is my favorite. This is not a book to file away on a shelf. It’s coffee table worthy but I display mine on a stand on my kitchen counter. Each day I turn to a different page and enjoy the gorgeous images from Steve and Brooke’s stunning and inspiring ranch, farm and home. Thank you for sharing your life with us!

The Giannettis have allowed us to be a part of a typical day on Patina Farm. Instead of just simply beautiful photos, Brooke and Steve share stories of their life on the farm. We truly feel like we are getting to know the Giannettis personally, and all that inspired them to create this Oasis in Ojai. We meet the menagerie of animals, we see the beautiful vegetables and roses that Brooke harvests from the garden, and even a few "farm to table" recipes. This book inspires us to think about what truly makes us happy in our lives --and how identifying a source of joy (gardening) can transform your entire life.

This book is filled with stunning photographs and knowledge of how to have a home place shared with loving animals, such as chickens, ducks, goats, sheep and miniature donkeys. I really learned a lot about tips and trick on caring for these animals and how they relate to their environment. There’s also information about a potager garden, which is a garden mixing food, edible and decorative plants.

I truly loveddddd this book! From the gorgeous architecture of the home to the beautiful flowers and the adorable animals. I am so inspired by this book that I am looking into getting my own babydoll sheep. I love all the photos and I love how there are resources in the back on where we can get some of the beautiful items in the photos. I thoroughly loved this book and have re-read it at least 5 times.

The photography in this book is so lovely! Because of our city's requirements, we do not have the proper location to even have chickens so I get my "barnyard animal fix" from reading & looking through beautiful books such as this one! Reading the lovely prose & perusing the beautiful photos are great ways to de-stress at the end of the day!
