Cruising Catamarans Made Easy Book for Sailors by American Sailing Association

A buddy and I took a catamaran camping certification course in Lake superior last fall. This was essentially our textbook. We are both monohull captains, we were looking to increase our knowledge. This was a great book give us a great foundation, and we took the hands-on course on the boat.

I've sailed monohulls for decades, but rarely catamarans. Getting ready for a Cat charter, I thought that this book might be helpful. Well, it has exceeded my expectations. Large glossy softcover. Good diagrams. Focuses only on the differences between chartering a CAT vs Monohull. A purchase well spent!

It was a perfect book for our upcoming trip. I found it to be very informative and easy to follow.

I read the first 45ish pages, and wrote a 2 star review.My complaint was that it was very superficial, and no in depth information, and boring, and all that can be found for free. I had no real intention of getting back to the book.But, things happen. So....Then, suddenly, as if a different author took the helm, it became very interesting, and had all the information I was hoping for.Most notably, what some of the big differences are between cats and monos, and how procedures change with the different hardware configurations, and which the differences is physics because of two hulls.What a difference a few pages make!Now I love the danged thing, except for the first 40ish pages, which are dribble.So 4 stars taking those pages into account, but now I'm happy I bought it, and that serendipity brought me back to reading it again.
