The Kentucky8-String Mandolin (KM-276) features a solid carved Sitka Spruce top for exceptional sound clarity, complemented by a solid carved Maple back and sides for a punchy tone. Its slim Maple neck ensures comfortable playability, while the radiused East Indian rosewood fingerboard offers a smooth playing experience. Finished with a stunning transparent brown lacquer, this mandolin is as beautiful as it is functional.

has the crisp sound, of a very expensive, hand made mandolin
the overall appearance, is amazing, and a fabulous sound comes out of it, sound quality like this usually comes out of a vintage Gibson, or a Martin, super!!

Superb!
I love everything about this mandolin. I did need to set it up and get new strings but that wasn't a big problem. The tone is lovely. All in all, well worth the expenditure.

Nice oval hole mandolin
First oval hole mandolin - good volume - very clear sounding and good sustain - easy to play . Setup was decent - filed nut slots a little on G and D strings

An incredible value for a really good mando
For the money, this is the best instrument I've ever bought. Its beautiful to look at, comfortable to play, and sounds wonderful. I'm really glad I held out for the 276. I love the dark brown color. The tone is bright with dark undercurrents. Not "tubby" or dead sounding at all. The notes are clean down to the 12th fret. The action is low, but not buzzy at all. Its important to remember that this is a $500 mandolin, not a $5000 mandolin. This instrument is for people on a real budget who have realized that their 'entry level" mando is holding them back. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because it doesn't have a pickup.

Nice, including setup
The Mando. looks nice and came with a descent setup. Plays well and has a comfortable neck. It is loud and will punch through when desired. It also plays quietly with a good tone. joe2/17/23 The more i play this mandolin the better I like it. Did take out a bit of underbow in the neck, 1/8 -1/4 turn on the truss rod made a huge improvement. joe
