About the Author Rev. Abraham ParkMay 17, 1928 - December 17, 2014 Born in Sariwon, Korea B.A. in Corporate Management from Kookmin University, Korea M. Div. from the Presbyterian General Assembly Theological University, Korea Honorary D. Min. from Lael College and Graduate School, USA Honorary D.D. from Faith Theological Seminary, USA Honorary D.D. from Knox Theological Seminary, USA Former Moderator of the Hap-dong Conservative General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in KoreaThe late Rev. Abraham Park founded Pyungkang Cheil Presbyterian Church, which currently consists of 70,000 members. His great spiritual legacy continues with his nine published volumes of the History of Redemption series and the 300 churches he had established worldwide. In the early part of his 56-year ministry, Rev. Park spent 3 1/2 years of solitude in a cave atop Mount Jiri, where he devoted day and night to the Bible and prayer. Like the fathers of the early church, Rev. Park's ministry was not founded upon his knowledge acquired from theological discipleship, but upon his life of piety and faith. His insights into the Bible, which he obtained through the powerful illumination of the Holy Spirit, were materialized into the manuscripts that would later become the book series called God's Administration in the History of Redemption. He attested with all his heart and soul that "the Bible is the living Word of God." As a bastion of conservative Reformed faith, he firmly taught that the Word of God is inerrant, infallible, and inspired by the Holy Spirit. Having read the Bible over 1,800 times, he is widely respected for his dedication, charisma, and unrivaled adeptness in biblical exposition. His Bible-centered ministry reached fruition through his congregation whose lives are centered on the church and the Word of God. Their service and dedication to the church, which is the body of Christ, has left indelible impressions on many theologians and ministers from all over the world. Read more

Park’s sincere love and dedication for the word of God is evident ...
Dr. Abraham Park continues to expound the importance of genealogy in understanding the Bible. What was once considered a simple list of names and lifespan provides an active focus in the lives of the men in the genealogy of our savior, Jesus Christ. Dr. Park’s sincere love and dedication for the word of God is evident as he elegantly references the Bible to reveal what was hidden. I found it fascinating that the line of Jesus continued through the dark period of the Israelite, even during their deportation to Babylon. Also in this book, Dr. Park clearly lays in detail Israelite's return to the homeland – of which there are three returns. I learned for the first time each return had a different leader with a specific purpose. The more you read the book, the more you are drawn as the words become vivid. Highly recommend the book, you will be sure that God always keeps His promise.

3rd period of 14 generations in Jesus' genealogy
Following books 3 and 4 of the History of Redemption book series, this 5th book continues on to expound on Jesus genealogy - it showcases the 3rd period of 14 generations; from the captivity to Babylon all the way to the birth of Jesus Christ. This book explains about the Babylonian captivity, telling in detail the three deportations as well as the three returns. Further more this book sheds light on the post Babylon exile period until the birth of Jesus Christ. We can see this in the timeline of the 3rd period of Jesus' genealogy and the transitions in world history, this is an amazing chart! This is a recommended read for all who seek to understand more about God's redemptive work and His Providence throughout history.

Like the other four books in the History of Redemption ...
Like the other four books in the History of Redemption series, "The Promise of the Eternal Covenant: God's Profound Providence as Revealed in the Genealogy of Jesus Christ (The Postexilic Period)" stunned me. The chart attached in the beginning of the book, bringing together world history and biblical history, became further proof that the stories in the Bible are real and did occur; they are HIStory. Many people have doubted the recorded history in the Bible because of omitted generations in the genealogy of Jesus Christ. However, Dr. Abraham Park solely uses the scripture to prove that God is never wrong--world history IS connected with redemptive history.Although the books have progressively become thicker and thicker, do not be intimidated--the book is broken down and organized so well that the word, the message is so easy to read and digest.

Highly recommended for anyone who yearns for a deeper understanding of the bible. A very insightful chart is inserted overlaying world history with redemptive history. Well worth the purchase as gaining such biblical insight ensures a return on investment that is eternal life!

Every detail examined - nothing ignored.
Amazing level of detail. I never realized there was so much to learn about 5 verses! This is focused on the time revealed in Matthew 1:12-16, the last 14 generations of Jesus Christ. Everything involving the listed generations (and the unlisted) and the events of their times are thoroughly and completely discussed. The timeline banner is incredibly detailed!I have come to expect nothing less from this author. His previous 4 books have the same level of detail. But more than just details. They are rich in spiritual understanding. This author not only transports you to the exact time (day, month and year!), but he also reveals the spiritual works enveloping that time and the main characters of the time.Like the previous 4 books, I can assure anyone reading this book that they will come away from the reading knowing a great deal more than they thought was possible. Excellent work.

Don't let the content intimidate you
If you're anything like me you begin reading the Bible at Genesis chapter 1 with the grand plan and full intent to read the bible in its entirety only to fizzle out around the book of Numbers or Deuteronomy. Very occassionally do I get as far as 1 Chronicles. I was honestly a little intimidated and not very interested to begin reading the fifth book in the History of Redemption series because I knew very little to nothing about the period in the bible that spans the last 14 generations of Jesus' genealogy. Now I wish I had forced myself to pick up the book sooner. The book is broken down to allow any reader to easily grasp the period just prior to Jesus with application to your personal walk of faith. I've become increasingly humbled at how great, wide, deep, and long His love is for me. Give this book a chance!
