Underestimated Work of Authentic Islamic Spirituality
This will go down as a classic of 21st Century Islamic literature. Whether for lack of appropriate marketing or otherwise, this hasn’t been given the due recognition it deserves. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say it is the Risala Qushayriyya of our time, written by a true inheritor of the Sufi masters of yesteryear. A must read for students, those interested in the essence of traditional Islam or simply for those wanting inspiration in age of spiritual depravity.

A Manual for Life
I've been reading this book over and over for the past 5-6 years. The method it presents for being a holistic Muslim in body, mind, and spirit is very cogent, and easily applicable, in my opinion. It provides amazing insights onto almost any situation I've been pondering over; so I can always use it as a reference like that. Also the large chapter on suffering is a succinct education in theology and how the Divine Names can be conceptualized; it's also a very philosophical chapter. Keller's undergraduate and graduate degrees were in philosophy, so he's good at explaining things on an intellectual level; but he's also just an excellent writer.

Comprehensive, Inspiration, Beautiful
I loved this book. As someone who loves to read, and has been struggling in the path for a decade about which the author writes, this book is GOLD. And I do not say that lightly, the manner in which Shaykh Nuh shares complex concepts comprehensively and easily is a gift.If you have been confused about place of tasawwuf in Islam, how to find a teacher, what does a good teacher look like, what do the lessons look like, what does good character look like, and even jump into topics such as evolution etc: this book sheds light on all of these topics.

Excellent and Eloquent
The highlight of this book for me was the stories of present day saints the sheikh has encountered during his years of spiritual travel. The stories are provided so that the disciple may know that these type of men still exist today and gives one a sense of aspiration to reach similar stations with their Lord. Also the emphasis the sheikh makes regarding the scrupulous adherence to sharia law when seeking such knowledge. Such an emphasis on Sharia law is a slap in the face to those who say there is no basis for Tassawuf in Orthodoxy Islam. This is far from the truth. Tassawuf can only be practice when the sharia law is followed. Sheikh Nuh also provides Shaf'i Fiqh section in the book as well. Fantastic book , and a must read for those who yearn for something more.

A moving account of true tasawwuf practiced by genuine Sufis
This is probably the most moving book that I have read in a while. The book has an immense baraka in that it changed my state immediately and almost forced me to re-think my spiritual commitment. I can only imagine what type of baraka the actual company of these shuyookh will produce in one who sincerely spends time with them. To say the least, after I read the book, I immediately began working on giving up certain things and returning to Allah. It has affected my state and I can only attribute it to Shaykh's sincerety and the baraka of his tariqa. May Allah spread the blessings of Shaykh Nuh and Shadhili tariqi far and wide. Ameen.

Amazing
The book came in an amazingly quick time and it was in pristine condition, still in shrink wrap. I'm very impressed! Can't wait to read it.

This book is nothing short of amazing. If you want to learn about what tasawuf ...
This book is nothing short of amazing. If you want to learn about what tasawuf is, how to be a sufi, what to do to be a sufi, what to do after you become a sufi..then this is a must read for you. Although I am a Naqshabandi and not a Shadhili as the author, there is also much benefit in here for those who are already following a sufi tareqah. May Allah reward the writer and the reader.

Excellent
Cannot go wrong with this book. Would recommend to those interested in religion and certainly to all Muslims. I myself come from a Roman Catholic background and very much appreciated the descriptions of saintly men and women as well as the emphasis placed on learning.
