I purchased one jar of Diaspora Co. Turmeric powder to use in savory dishes like curries and to enhance the flavor of meats and vegetables. It has a mustard-like, earthy aroma and adds a slightly bitter flavor to foods. Only a small amount (such as a teaspoon) is needed at a time. I also used it as a dye for the perfect golden color for hand dyed Easter eggs. It does stain skin yellow, so wear food safe gloves for this purpose.The best thing about Diaspora Co.'s Turmeric powder is that it is ethically sourced and sustainably farmed and comes form a single family owned source. It is the single best Turmeric powder I've used. Grade A+

This is just high quality turmeric. It has a more vibrant color than any other turmeric I've seen, and further has a more "fresh" taste than any other turmeric I've used.I use it daily on steamed veggies, probably for the same reason everyone else uses it -- turmeric's purported health effects.I like the backstory regarding the turmeric, that it's an LGBTQ-supportive, minority woman-owned company, and further works with the farmers in India to pay them a fair wage. However, even if that doesn't matter to you, this is still the best turmeric you can buy.The date it was milled is stamped on the product as well.

We were really excited to get our first jar of Diaspora Co turmeric, having just run out of the turmeric we brought home from our last trip to my partner's family home in Kerala. It's incredibly fresh and the smell and flavor are intense and delightful - brings back so many memories! Plus, knowing that it's coming from a woman-owned business and from a single-origin source in A.P. meant a lot to us, since it can be really tricky to trace the origins of our food in the modern world. I can't say enough about how great Diaspora Co is! Not only is their organic turmeric by far the best I've ever had, but also it's ethically sourced and sustainably farmed. This is seriously the best tumeric I’ve ever used. Super high curcumin content (aka what you’re looking for if your buying tumeric for the supposed health benefits) and it smells and tastes so much fresher than the (probably expired) stuff you buy in the grocery store. Plus, the company has really good ethics in terms of sourcing sustainably and ensuring that as much of the profits as possible go to the farmers.

This Tumeric is definitely better quality than any other brand I have used. The flavor is wonderful. I can't express enough how awesome this brand is and the value for the money is terrific.
