Fashion Designers' Sketchbooks Hardcover – September 29, 2010

My daughter and I were in a "vintage" store where she fell in love with this book but it was priced at $40, the retail and I convinced her to wait. Saw it at a great price at Amazon and instantly bought it for her. She's getting it for Christmas and I know she'll love it!!

This is a really good book for students and designers alike, because it is vividly explained and illustrated. The research process, which should go beyond a moodboard, is clearly laid out in this book and the reader can get a fantastic view into the designers' mind. It can give students a great visual and on what to include in your sketchbook and how to make your research more concise, precise and relevant to your collection.

I bought this book because I wanted to see how other designers work, but after looking in it I still have no clue. It shows so many different designers, but I was hoping the book had sketches and a little explanation and then the final piece, but nope. Just a lot of boring and useless pictures…. As you may have guessed, I won’t recommended it :/

i love looking at other peoples sketchbooks to see how they think and interpret their ideas, so i brought this book and its really impressive. also there are interviews with the designers which is a great read and helpful.

Shows different designers sketchbooks.. really nice to understand how actually designers do their skecthbook and shows different illustrations they draw!Nice one for future designers x

I bought it for my sister who is a semiprofessional fashion designer. She finds it tremendously useful.

Excellent book. Gives a great insight into designers working process. I must for all textile and fashion students. Heartily recommended.
