I tried so many times to waterproof my mini pond - I finally have a happy pond that actually retains all the water - brilliant!

Thin and runny on application
As fellow reviewers have noted, the instructions for mixing etc are not in English but that’s easily resolved using a phone to translate so I wasn’t bothered about that. Basically, mix with water to form a paste then apply in thin layers. We measured quantities carefully but still only got a very thin paste, very watery, but one that needed constant stirring to make sure the powder didn’t settle at the bottom and just sit there like sludge. We used it on a concrete base for a new shed (well, while in lockdown, what else is there to do?!) and once we got the hang of stir, dip big brush in, slap on quickly then stir again, it went quite well. We just about got two coats on a base measuring 11’x9’ (can’t do metric, sorry, too old) then left it overnight to dry. It rained! So that was a great test, which this passed with flying colours. So, I reckon this is a good buy but be ready to translate (the Italian was easier for us, other languages were Polish I think and something else I didn’t recognise at all), and the brushes we used got totally ruined, as the concrete destroyed them. This stuff washes off your skin and clothes with water though which is good, as long as you don’t let it dry.One star off for the inability to make a smooth paste, and the lack of UK instructions.

Good quality waterproofing product. Instructions not supplied but relatively easy to mix and apply
Once you do some research on line you can download English instructions. None came with the bag. Hence the loss of 2 stars. I think that no instructions is a bit poor, even when you can source them on the internet.Basically to mix just add 1.25 litres of water to the 5kg that come in the bag.I note this product is especially recommended for use in places like basements. Below this review is a summary of the guidance I found.Sika UK have a YouTube channel but I couldn't find any instructions specific to this product in that. I got the below from the products data sheet. Also, there is some guidance on the Amazon product page.I did some research on Sika, as a company producing waterproofing materials, they have apparently been around since 1910 and they produce a wide range of other construction products. They appear to be well respected and widely used globally. The product seems ok do far. I emwill revisit this review if any issues arise as time progresses.Below is a summary of the guidance I found. Before ApplicationSubstrate must be clean, sound, free from loose material, or dust, or grease. Joints should be filled. The surface must be thoroughlydampened, avoiding standing water.Do not apply on plasterboard, plaster, screeds, anhydrite, wood, or surfaces that have been treated with paints, coatings, plastic coatings, bitumen, or on surfaces with seepage orwaterloggingTO MIXAdd the water in the correct proportion into mixing container. Add the powder slowly and mix for at least 3 minutes until consistency homogenous.APPLICATIONCan be applied with a stiff bristled brush, spatula, glue brush or a smooth trowel up to 2 or 3 layers. The first coat must be applied by brush.Subsequent layer/layers can be applied either by brush (subsequent layers should be applied cross-wise) or spatula when the previous one has dried (approx. 4–6 hours) and not later than 12 hours. The thickness should not exceed 4mm.CLEANING TOOLSClean all tools and equipment with waterimmediately after use.

Great quality product that produces quality results of a waterproof surface.
This product makes up an excellent waterproofing solution. When mixed it is a slurry like formula that can be painted on with a brush or applied with a spatula. Once dry it is paintable after about a week in dry conditions. Sika make great products and they are a brand i trust.... however, it is useful i can read a number of the languages on the product packaging.... English instructions are not printed anywhere on it which i found odd, especially as this is sold into the British market. It took a few seconds to find these on the internet, however under COSHH these should be supplied even as a simple A5 sheet in with the product. That said this is a brilliant professional product and really does produce a waterproof surface to existing concrete, bricks, blocks and the like. Happy to highly recommend and it must be supplied with English Instructions to the UK market. Andrew
