This is by far, the greatest word for word translation of the Holy Bible!
I just finished reading the book according to the suggested reading plan & couldn't be more pleased! I truly appreciate all the time, energy & love that went into this version. This was truly a labor of love & it shows! I appreciate the time & incredible amount of patience it took to translate the Greek text word for word. And reading the New Testament according to your suggestion was a truly gratifying experience! I actually fell in love with the Apostle Paul thanks to you! The reading plan gave me a better understanding of what happened & when, without having to stop reading & thumb through chapters in search of the same time period or event. The Bible can be extremely overwhelming & some chapters can be very difficult to follow, but the reading plan that you put together really helps build a foundation of understanding that can make all the difference! I was completely overwhelmed the 1st few times I tried reading the Bible because it's challenging & can be difficult to understand, mainly because it isn't written in chronological order & some of the "characters" pop in and out & origination is difficult to trace. But the online version is AWESOME bc you've added links that we can click on to refer back to something, it's just awesome that you took the time to do this! I honestly look forward to reading this again & again using the plan you've suggested! I hope my review didn't confuse anyone, I guess you'd have to read the book (or free online) according to the simple reading schedule to understand what I'm saying! I actually read most of the plan online only because the links help tremendously when studying or taking notes, but for my 2nd time around I wanted the text to read & highlight, then use my ipad to click on the links for reference. May God bless all of you for your hard work & effort on this version, it's very much appreciated!

Meticulous literal New Testament translation
I was looking for a translation of the New Testament that was focused on being a literal translation from the Greek. The Modern Literal Version was created with just this goal in mind. In fact, the folks who have assembled this translation have gone to such lengths as to always translate a given Greek word to the same English equivalent. They attempt to get the word ordering as close as possible. When they need to add English words they italicize them so the reader knows what is added. When they need to translate something idiomatic, they footnote the literal translation. They also have used computer programs to ensure that the translation is done as uniformly as possible.(EDIT: One downside, at least IMHO, is that it's based on the Majority Text whereas Greek editions are more commonly based on the NA/USB text. Consequently, unless the Greek text you're working from is also the Majority Text, there will be places where this translation diverges from the Greek. I don't want to get into a big argument about which Greek text is best, but for me, having this text be based on NA/USB would have made it far more useful in practice, and because it is not, I tend to use the NASB and ESV far more often than this edition. Bottom line: Know which Greek text you're using, and if it's not Majority Text, expect issues in some places.)This is an excellent translation to have handy for someone learning New Testament Greek or performing biblical exegesis. Because of its goals, it is stiff to read, so if you just want to read the NT for historical, literary, or spiritual reasons, a different translation would probably serve you better. However, for those who are interested in a literal translation, it's an excellent supplement to other texts. The Kindle price is very reasonable. The formatting isn't very pretty to look at. I can't speak about the dead tree version.

Love! Most accurate Greek-English translation & not governed by a church/group/society/company etc
I love this version of the Bible! I have recommended it to several people! Great detail and explanations. I used to be very very catholic but then I fell away from church and religion all together. Recently I found myself coming back to Christ and wanted to find a version of the Bible that I could trust and wasn’t influenced by a particular religion or region or tradition. I did my research and came across this version and I must say I am very impressed. This version strictly gives you exactly what the Greek Bible says. They translated traditional Greek into modern English and give great detail into how it was done and have many markings throughout to describe and go into depth on what certain terminology means. They spoke a lot differently back then and certain Greek words mean something quite differently today and this version of the Bible marks this for you and allows you to go look at the definition so you can have complete understanding of it.The MLV is not owned by a publishing company, a government, foundation, bible society or a church. Also, It is the only Bible translation that allows all religious groups to participate. It is a NOT for profit Bible so you can download a free version online! I prefer physical books when reading so I purchased this one for myself.

Great price for a great study aid.
Did not even know this existed until a friend told me he uses it. It has been very helpful in my studies of the New Testament. Plenty of room for notes and rugged stock paper for marking and highlighting without any bleed through. I use it in conjunction with my NASB and it has been helpful in clarifying some difficult passages.

New Testement only, not advertised
I was so excited to find this Bible. I read one of this title while I was hospitalized last year. The difference is what I had access to then, what what I have access to with my recent purchase. I thought I was getting a full, old and new testament Bible. Instead, I only got a new testament. Which is still better than nothing, but I wish it stated somewhere before I bought the book

Very True to the Greek
This is a translation that translates Koine Greek into English to get the true meaning of God’s word, independent of bias and guessing. I will continue to read through the New Covenant in this version so that when I am reading my NKJV at church or in group Bible studies, I will know how it truly reads.

It's not really a literal translation.

Avoid
This translation is garbage as the devil is the devil not the slanderer. This translation has eliminated the devil and used the word slanderer instead.See Math chapter 4 v8Avoid the trsnslation period.

Not really a great read...
This is a very literal version, and in my very short reading of a few pages, it seems very unpleasant to read. Using words like "assassinate the old covenant", which just feels way odd. Or it seems to contradict itself, potentially implying boasting in front of Christ is what Paul will be doing. This is probably why it is said, you cannot directly translate Greek into English because of the multiple word meanings of one word. I think I will stick with a KJV.This book may be useful for a student of language (maybe), but I think using it for easy reading is not advised as it is worse than a KJV in making sense.
