Bun mom of 15+ years. I’ve had many rabbit sin my care, worked at an animal shelter, and a vet. I’ve been using Oxbow for years and they are one of the most trustworthy and quality hay brands for my buns. I now foster rabbits. The first litter I raised grew up on oxbow. Mama just had her last litter (she came to me with one litter born and apparently another on the way) and they will also grow up on Oxbow. I’ve never had an issue with freshness. The hay comes in genuinely dry and dust free with perfectly long strands. I have a spare 13g trashcan with a lid. I just drop a big 90oz bag in there to keep the pets out of the main supply. Smaller bags are closed away too. My rabbits love it so much they prefer to eat straight out of the bag instead of the open boxes or hay feeders I use. Worth the extra few dollars and can usually be found at local farm stores or pet stores in bulk if I can’t get it shipped fast enough.

My guinea pigs love this hay, it’s fresh, not dusty, and not just tiny crumbs. They eat it happily, I’ll order again.

This is the cheap price for a lot of product.

My piggies love this hay. Is very fresh.The texture is not too thin. The bag it comes in Could be a little bit better at keeping the hay fresh.

As a fairly new guinea pig owner, I was struggling to find a great hay for my guinea pigs. I've heard about Oxbow in vet school, and they hosted some lunch talks (however, this didn't influence my decision to STICK with Oxbow). My guinea pigs really like this hay. From Oxbow, the PURE western timothy hay was giving me splinters and it's very rough. For this reason, I tried switching to Oxbow PURE ochard grass, and I loved how soft it was; however, my guinea pigs' stools started to seem a bit soft, and I was worried that the hay was not fibrous enough to keep their teeth worn down due to how soft it was (although it was my favorite hay to handle). Then, I switched to Small Pet Select 2nd cut timothy hay to see if it would be any softer. The quality was good, but my guinea pigs had a clear preference for Oxbow, and maybe it's because the brand of hay they were eating when I adopted them from the rescue. This hay has the sweetness of orchard grass, and just enough fibrous pieces to wear down my piggies' teeth. They really seem to love it. They were even choosing to eat it over their pellets! I love the perfect balance of softness and toughness in this hay blend, and their stools still seem to be perfectly shaped and solid. I can't speak for the consistency of bags yet, as I'm still on my first bag, but I will update this review accordingly. If you're thinking about switching to this Oxbow hay blend, you will not be disapppointed

We adopted bunny and she had been fed another brand. For consistency we maintained this to keep her diet the same for two years. However, the quality of the other brand went down and we started to worry about her. I ordered this hoping she would like it, to our surprise she loved it! This hay is so fresh, has a good color and texture, and comes in a resealable package. I feel so much better knowing she is now eating a hay/brand that puts pet health first and is a great value for the money. It has to taste great because princess even eats the bits we drop on the floor. Look no further for your furry friend!

When I opened the bag I was engulfed in the heavenly sweet scent of the hay. It was soft and green and packed very tightly. My Guinea pigs loved it! It smelled so good and fresh I looked forward to feeding them. That was the first bag. I ordered it again and the hay was dry brittle and more brown and was packed loosely and not very fragrant. It seemed old. I will order again and hopefully it will be better.
