After leaving a backpack behind and having it stolen by the time I returned, I wanted to prevent future mistakes. I picked up one of these to throw in my new backpack. If I walk more than 30 ft away, it chimes my phone, letting me know I've forgotten it. I received it yesterday, and have tested it many times in several locations. It has worked flawlessly.I also like the option to disable this feature when I'm at home. (Via connected wifi network)I don't use it for any other features so can not comment or review based on anything by this geofence feature.In regards to the disconnecting when you close the app. I have tested and found that if you have the app open, and his the back button, it has a popup saying it will not work if you close it. So instead of closing like this, I simply closed it from the recent apps screen. It continued to work just fine. This is on android.

BROKE! Updating my review. Worked great for about 1 month then it stopped working. When I went to visit my mom a little over a month later she brought this to me telling me it stopped working. I thought maybe it was the battery. I opened it to change the battery and saw that a small piece was/had broken off. The piece that goes below the button to locate her phone (or at least I believe that is where it goes). It was just this small piece that was loose/not attached to anything. This was a great product while it worked but since it only worked for a month so I have to change my below review from 5 stars to 1 star.5 STAR PRODUCT!!! Got this as a gift for my mom. She misplaces her phone on a regular basis. She told me this was the best gift I could have given her AND she used it the same day I gave it to her!

I gifted this for a coworker who ALWAYS loses her keys. It was easy to install and use. We tried it out and the tone played when activated is perfectly loud to help locate the keys! I also love how it uses GPS so you can see where they are if left outside the room or building. Double tapping on button makes your phone play even when it is on silent, so it works to find phones, too!How it lost a star: the coin cell battery is difficult to replace. It comes with a spare battery, which I didn't realize and I tried to replace the battery. That thing is TOUGH to open.Also, the app needs some improvements in design to be more user-friendly for my less tech savvy coworker!

I bought this for the GPS tracking, and the GPS tracker only logged one day and one location. I opened the app from multiple locations in the following weeks to see if it had picked up the new location, and it only picked up that one location from 2 weeks ago, when the item was in my possession. It is very unreliable with the GPS, which is the main feature I wanted it with. The alarm worked, which is why I am giving it 2 stars, but it's completely useless if I don't remember where I leave something and I am not within reach to hear the alarm.

I don’t know about this. I didn’t realize that the app needs to stay in the background to work. If you close out the app it disconnects from your phone. One day I will restart my phone and forget to open the app in that case it’ll be useless. I’ve been researching and I think most of them are like this though Ugh.UPDATE 02/27/19: I never closed out the app but It disconnected from my phone. Have no idea why. Totally useless when disconnected. Will see if it keeps happening over the next week or so. If so, I'm returning this.UPDATE APRIL 4: So I changed out the battery and I’ll see if that helps. This thing has been such a pain I haven’t been using it. Another annoying thing is even though I turned off the Disconnect Notification the key finder attached to my key ring still sounds off an alarm anyway. As you can imagine it’s really annoying to my roomate!Ok this thing is so worthless. If you go out of range the app disconnects every single time and when you try to find your phone with it you can’t because it’s disconnected from the app. All you need to do is walk a few feet away and it disconnects. Worthless!

I am horrible about losing my keys and my phone. By horrible, I mean daily, one goes missing. My husband though this would help me out with both unless I lose both at the same time. The finder is easy to use and it was easy to set up on my phone. I like that I can find both my keys and phone with this device. I also like that the finder is light weight and does not take up much space or add weight to my key ring.

Total junk. Wouldn’t work, so I opened it to check the battery, as described in the manual. The entire electronics board inside fell out, the button broke, and battery terminal broke off the board, lol. Literally the cheapest garbage they can make. To top it off, the (awful) app you have to use comes with a whopping 2 out of 5 stars on the App Store. Stay away.

I am notorious for not hanging my keys up where the family is supposed to hang the keys up for the next person. Then when we need to use the keys... yes, we can’t find them. This little gadget is wonderful at helping me locate the keys that I forget to hang up!! So no more lost keys and no more searching forever. Great item and it works just like it is supposed too.
