Comfortable, functional -- a blessing for my body!
I have patella-femoral syndrome as part of hyperlaxity ("double-jointedness"), so my kneecaps are always in pain because they are moving "off track," bending "backwards," and rubbing against other bones and grooves, thus becoming inflamed.I purchased two of these knee supports (they are sold individually, in case that wasn't clear in the product description) in the hope that they could relieve my leg pain, as well as help me target and work with muscles that will keep my kneecaps properly in place, thus relieving my condition at least a little.I've only worn these braces while hanging around the house, but so far I am very happy -- they are a dream! The supports make my kneecaps feel like they are securely in place, but still moveable, in the right way. They relieve sooo much pressure and allow my kneecaps to rest in the proper location, which feels so good, it's almost unreal! The design construction is very sophisticated, yet they are easy to use and very comfortable to wear. I have even worn these while taking a nap, because in the past my knee pain could be so intense that I would have trouble sleeping. So they definitely pass the sleep test, which is great.I haven't tried working out with these yet, but so far, they are worth it just for everyday comfort and pain relief. They're not too stylish to look at, and they are a little pricey, but they are totally worth it for me.

Wellgate knee support
I have owned two Wellgate knee supports over the last year (Patella Subluxation) and was happy with them until I wore them out. I couldn't find a replacement in any of the stores so I looked to Amazon. When I ordered this one I thought it was a new model but when I got it turned out to be the same one I've been wearing. I'm not unhappy, was just hoping for a thinner material that wouldn't show through pants too much, and this one is not that bad, and it's still the best brace I've owned, and I've owned many over the last several years. This brace stays in place and keeps my kneecap in place, others I've had roll or need to be pulled up frequently. I can see where a very thin or large limbed person may have an issue with the size, I am neither but in other braces I've always had to have a large size. This one can be adjusted to the upper and lower leg with the velcro straps so there is some flexibility here and it doesn't bind you in the back of the knee as others often do. If you wear one everyday it will probably last you about 6 months as the velcro will wear out.

good but not excellent
I hurt my knee several months ago and I believe that it is getting better. However, when I have to walk for awhile or go up and down stairs in this horrible heat and humidity, it starts to throb again. I bought this knee support to see if it could help under these circumstances. It definitely works to keep my knee stabilized and I do not have the throbbing pain after wearing it. My only complaint is that it stretches out and will not stay in place so I have to keep taking it off and putting it back on.

Great for Intense Hiking
I bought this brace for a job that involved hiking 5-7 hours daily, to help with my runner's knee. I love that it can be taken on and off easily and that it isn't heavy and rigid. I was worried when I ordered it that it would be too flimsy, but it works surprisingly well. The plain, mostly seamless foam causes relatively little irritation to the skin even after wearing it in very hot weather for hours. I found the sizing just fine; I wear size 8 pants and this brace fit well. I had to tighten it a fair amount, but it wasn't too big. I rarely ever have to adjust the tightness or pull up the brace while hiking - it stays put. Overall, I really, really like this brace. It's beginning to fall apart after 5 months hard use, but I definitely feel I've gotten my money's worth.Edit: I've been using these braces for three years now and for the most part, I really like them. I do have one question about their design, though: WHICH PRIZE IDIOT DECIDED THE WELLGATE LOGO SHOULD BE EMBROIDERED??? Every time I take the brace off, I have an angry red imprint of the Wellgate embroidery on my calf. Do you hear me, Wellgate? Find another way to get your logo on there, this way hurts.

Excellent!
This knee support is terrific - I greally appreciate the two attachments, running opposite of each other - and that the Velcro is set further away from the edge, when attached, no brushing of velco on my skin! It's tight enough for support, yet flexible that it doesn't cut into my skin! The two straps leaves no coverage for about 1/2 in the back, so no more folding of the fabric that burrows into the skin in the back of the knee, so no irritation with that! The fabrics are soft and smooth! The color is much nicer than black or that flesh color that looks more orange. I'm not a skinny chick, and this works well for my larger legs. This product is terrific!I purchased two - so I have one clean - this is an excellent product!

Did not fit me well at all.
Like others, I purchased this based off the great reviews, and now wish I hadn't. I love to go for long walks, but because I have slight scoliosis, one knee always takes a lot more impact than the other, particularly when walking in hilly areas, which is unavoidable in my area. I had hoped that this support would help ease the ache after those long walks. I probably should have known better because of my body type (5'5, about 200 lbs), but I also needed something in my price range.I went for one long walk with this, and that was more than enough for me. It was a very snug fit already, but during my walk I realized that the support itself (not the straps) was digging into the back of my leg, and kept shifting down, which was pulling the gel support below where it's supposed to be. When I got home, I took it off and found that not only did my knee actually feel worse because of the shifting, but I also had a long line around almost my entire leg that burned from where it dug in.It didn't seem bulky under my pants, so that wasn't an issue, but I would advise others to take note of the fit if your body type is anything like mine. I would like to think it might fit better once I lose the weight I'm trying to work off, but for now, at least, it will sit off to the side unused.
