I rarely write nasty reviews, but this "steak" has earned the nastiest one I've ever written.
This 10oz strip steak was the worst steak I've ever eaten in my entire 4 decade life. This steak was so gross. So chewy, felt like it'd never break down into something swallowable. Also when biting it, the flesh of the meat was crunchy- I'm not talking crisped edges from grilling (which I like), nor do I mean it was crunchy like a cookie. What I mean, is that when biting down upon a piece, made a crunching sound, as if I was breaking thru a bunch of taut fine strings, I felt more & more crunching, breaking "strings" as my teeth sunk further into the bite. I can't think of any other way to describe it. I've never in my life experienced a crunching feeling when biting thru a piece of steak. I have had my share of overcooked steaks in my life, and none could remotely compare to the crunch I felt, and heard when biting this medium well steak. There is no reason on earth that it should be this way. I am so grossed out I don't even know if I can eat another steak ever again in my life. This terrible experience might've ruined steak for me, for as long as I live.I don't know what this was. I seriously wonder if it even came from a cow. I don't even know how to describe it, I know my description sounds weird & doesn't make a whole lot of sense.I can cook a great steak, I always marinate them for added flavor, which also tenderizes it, so even cheaper cuts, come out tender, and delicious. I marinate between 4 hours & overnight depending on the cut, so this steak undoubtably should've been tender!!!Also out of the package this steak had an odd appearance. It was 2 different colors! It was red at both ends, then about 3 -4 inches in the middle (so, most of the steak) was an unusual pinky brownish color. Not only was the color inconsistent with what a good steak looks like, the surface texture of the steak seemed to be too smooth , almost glassy, like seafood. I also noted an odd fishy scent when unpacked it. I rinsed the steak off, and couldn't really smell it anymore, so maybe it was just the package that smelled, maybe something spilled on the package while at the amazon warehouse. I didn't want to believe it was coming from the steak, as then I would've just thrown it out (in retrospect I wish I did) because it turned out to be such a waste, on top of a waste of $15, I wasted marinade, effort, & time, on this crappy thing I don't think deserved to be called a steak.I probably shouldn't have cooked it at all, but I felt I had no choice, since Amazon refuses to stand behind the quality of their steaks & won't give a refund no matter what it looked or tasted like. It was crunchy chewy in the worst, most disgusting way like this cow has was made of taut strings of dental floss, and beef flavored gum.I couldn't take more than 2 bites of this funky "steak". Something was very very wrong with this steak. I don't request refunds of perfectly good, edible food, so I really don't like how Amazon has locked down the ability to request a refund on steaks.I wanted to eat it after investing my money & time in this steak, but couldn't bring myself to eat another bite. Later on I threw up! Just from the 2 bites (or maybe it was from being thoroughly disgusted, idk)AMAZON: Maybe alot of people have asked for refunds because the steak you've been sending us is subpar. Instead preventing people from the ability to get money back, maybe you should a). look into carrying better steak & b). Keep perishables in temperature controlled packaging. You cannot expect people to swallow bad meat, that was sitting in a Fresh driver's car for 2 hours. The steak was not even cold upon arrival. I'm not buying anymore steak from you guys. I'm not about to eat meat that's gone bad, only to get poisoning & vomit everytime, just cuz you decided to stop making sure it arrives in the same condition it left the warehouse in.My advice to other Fresh customers-It's safe to buy chicken from Amazon, as it leaves the warehouse frozen, so even if it's no longer frozen enough to place back into freezer, it can go in fridge & be used within a couple days. However it comes to beef it's a gamble, it really depends on how soon the driver gets to your house after departing the warehouse.. .Amazon beef is a bet I'm no longer willing to risk.

Love these.
When we do eat steak, this is my go to. I have purchased this many times, and every time that I cook it, it is phenomenal. I appreciate how they describe the cows to live. It seems they treat them very well and the cows are free to roam and eat grass which is nice. I recommend it but I will be honest, it does taste a little different from conventional steak.

So tender
Beat this in the package, with your fists in the counter, let it marinate for a day in some lemon vinaigrette, then grill it. Divine.

Delicious
Tender, flavorful filling. A good quality piece of steak needs little more than salt and pepper. Satisfying!

Flavor, value & satisfaction make this a great steak, dude!
Yum Yum in my Tum Tum! I have purchased quite a few over the years for myself & my action figures! I have never had an issue with the quality or size of the meat. (Neither have the action figures!) Even without seasoning or any enhancements, this meat is the one to beat! Iron Man is an amazing chef, btw!Always let your meat relax on a table or plate before cooking!Stay Classy Amazon!
