Vo-5 makes my hair look healthy, shiny and calms the frizzy bits! I have super thick hair which is curly and wavy. This old school product is the only thing I can find that makes it look great. My mom used this on herself and all my sisters since the ‘60s. Yep. I love beauty and hair products and used to be a hairdresser. I have tried a ton of products but always come back to this one. It’s greasy feeling in a way, and you really don’t need a lot and you definitely don’t want it near your scalp. I damp dry my hair, put dime size in my palm and rub, then apply to the bottom 3/4ths of my hair ( hair is shoulder length) focusing on the ends. What’s left I run through the interior of the the hair in same area. I then blow dry and flat iron my hair and can get it very smooth and I’m good to go for days. My sister also still uses it but she lets her hair air dry. It makes your hair look so glossy and healthy. Also it keeps my hair from looking too big and fluffy. Only a thick haired person understands. At times I will sometimes apply a tiny bit to shine up the ends through the week. All in all it has stood the test of time. The most I Important thing is to find the balance of not too much not to little. I wish the smell was better, it’s the same as many years ago but I will always have it on hand. Recently, I did run out and used some hair care products I received in a beauty box. I thought well not too bad, until I got the Vo-5 and realized that product wasn’t doing me service at all. A little goes a long way so you won’t run out to fast.

Love this stuff. I used this when I was younger and glad I got it again. Great for longer thin hair that tends to snarl. Rub a tiny amount in your hands and rub on the snarl, it will comb right out. Keeps hair smooth. I also love the smell!!

I have been using this for a long time. When my hair gets unruly and wants to go its own way because of tendency to curl, I get my hair damp, dry it (not completely - just the drippy part) and put a dime to a half a quarter size in my palms and run it through my hair. Tames the curls, makes them go more where I want the to go instead of sticking up on top, back or sides of my head scalp. Also if and when my scalp starts feeling dry, even towards itchy, I use it to moisturize my hair and scalp. I like the earthy scent, not strong, kind of woody, not like parfume. Been using it for years. This is nice size container, my previous ones were smaller.

A little is a lot, I am 72 and my hair is chin length with high-lights and toner (to mask the grey), I use a little less than 1/8", it keeps my hair looking shinny and manageable. I wash my hair 2 or 3 times per week and it's never greasy. The smell isn't great when I smell it in the tube, but once in my hair I don't smell it. My husband also began using it and loves it. I was afraid to use it after the bad reviews, but I can assure you they had to have been exaggerating.
