When Fifty Shades Darker was being filmed in Vancouver, the last item to check off on Ana’s costume list was the masquerade mask, and for Costume designer Shay Cunliffe the search for it was “quite a journey.” The wardrobe department originally created several custom masks for the character, but “they proved to be uncomfortable and overwhelming when worn.” So, naturally, they turned to for help. “I started searching online for alternatives, selecting options in laser cut metals, crystals and laces,” she said. “Then I tried on all the options myself and eliminated those which were not comfortable enough to spend a long day shooting in. It was immediately clear that the lace mask we used in the film, which was purchased online from Samantha Peach in the UK via , worked very well on all counts.” After adding Swarowski crystals to it, they bought many more to get them through production.The mask ended up being the image used in all the promotion for the film , being used on the tie in movie edition of the book, the soundtrack cover and blasted across the screens at the Superbowl when Taylor Swift sangUniversal Films collaborated with Samantha Peach to provide thousands of the mask for the Movie premieres across 50 countriesSamantha Peach was also asked to supply the silver mask for the limited edition Fifty Shades Darker DVD , and a year later was approached again to make the gold and black version for the final Fifty Shades Trilogy Opus boxset For true Fifty fans there is only one name that came with them on the whole rollercoaster ride, make sure the mask you buy is the right one

Flexible, neither stiff or floppy, stays in place
I purchased two of these for events and they fit very well! They put no pressure on the bridge of my nose and didn’t bunch up. It is stiff enough to stay in place without being uncomfortable and the lace does not flop down. It ties well and stayed in place all night without having to readjust. Great buy!

Felt lovely and soothing on my face. I actually wore this soft, lace-y mask underneath a meta-and-studded mask. I received compliments all night, and everyone loved my idea of combining the two looks. My idea certainly saved me from having to look for a glue gun and some glitter stones to "glitz up" the grey-colored mask. I really did appreciate how beautifully the fabric felt on my skin. Description of Mask is Spot On
I love this mask. It was very easy to wear. While others were taking their mask off after minutes I had my mask on for hours. I had to remember to take it off. I did experience any discomfort such as heavy, overheating or sweating. I am pleased with my purchase and will use it for my next masquerade event and more. As far as the eta of the mask, it was delivered as promised. This mask is in a class of its own and while it is delicate, feminine with exquisite details it is constructed very well.

Very Nice Mask
Very pretty! It conforms to your face nicely. I would order several colors in several different styles because it is similar to purchasing glasses. The black one bled on my face but wiped off easily. Not sure how to prevent that but I am sure there is something that can be done. So be cautious when purchasing the colored masks but the lighter ones should not be a problem.

Damaged Item.
Damaged product received. Cute mask, but poor construction quality. The ribbons were too short to tie and the center focal point on the lower nose was damaged and torn (see photo). You must also be careful, the silver paint on the exterior surface does rub off as other reviewers have mentioned.

Looks Great and Relatively Comfortable
Very cute. I wore to a Vampire Masquearde Ball, as you do. Was comfortable enough to wear all night without noticing it much. Actually kinda kept my face warm.Looks beautiful and not too difficult to see through, although all faces are different.

Beautiful and comfortable!
This mask was perfect!! Such a beautiful mask! And very breathable... Everyone else had to take off their masks at one point to let their face breathe, but I was able to wear this thing for 6 hours with no problems! It was so gorgeous for our masquerade ball, and super comfortable!

Good mask if you don’t like the hard plaster masks
Very lightweight - stiffened lace material. Seemed to fit my face well, however the design price that goes over your nose is very irritating. If you’re okay with it, I’d recommend just cutting it off. Otherwise nice mask. Because it’s only a stiffened lace, I’m not sure how durable it is. I’d handle it with care.
