I love it but....prepare for a battle like others have written.
I bought this chair some 5 or more years ago but just opened it up this weekend. When i saw all the pieces of hardware, I knew I was in for a long day/night! No turning back as I honestly don't even recall where I bought it, but it was love a first sight and I decided i had to have it. Assembly took me at least 10 hours, my body is still sore and my hands were swollen for a day or more. I study the "directions" really, really truly I did. Anyhow I too had to assemble and disassemble most parts 3 times, some 5 or 6 times. Finally, one day later and a lot of creative tweaking later, I have may modified setup, and it seems to work, for now. Curiosity got the best of me today since I came here to see if I could once again find my treasured hammock chair and see what others have said...I understand all your pain. I wondered why there was a 8000 foot long sting in the box but found good use for it after I made my modification. If I could of only seen the end product I surely would have saved myself countless hours of figuring out how to properly put on the webbing. I like my idea better. Here is a picture...now if I can only find a safe way in and out of this chair I'll be all set. It is extremely comfortably even without the cushion. Good luck to future engineers who take on the task of putting one of these together.

Poor Product
Before we start I suggest that you sit down with a nice cup of hot cocoa, take a couple of Valium (keep extras on hand) and turn on some music, perhaps "Blood, Sweat & Tears". Your new chair will arrive in two containers. One is manageable, the other I had to slide in the front door as I couldn't lift it. I think FedEx had a special delivery guy who had been pumping iron his entire life. He put both boxes near my front door, knocked once lightly, ran to his truck and burned rubber to get away before I could say anything. How odd. I carefully unpacked everything keeping a keen eye out for instructions. There were exactly 100 pieces, most of which were an assortment of hardware. A few of the wooden pieces were labeled, none of the 84 pieces of hardware were labeled. All of the hardware was tossed at random into a bag. So begins the first part of your puzzle. You do like puzzles don't you? To solve this first puzzle it will be very helpful if you grab your metric tape measure. For the entire process there are no instructions, not one single word. What substituted for instructions were some pseudo-diagrams. While I'm sure that there is a mother in China that is very proud of her child's first attempt at drawing, these pseudo-diagrams were not to scale, were inaccurate, were misleading and were often mislabeled when labeled at all. Still, that wasn't too bad for the first puzzle which was simply figuring out what you had. Within an hour I had things sorted and organized. Now to start the second puzzle, putting together the chair. This turned out to be a bit more problematic. Several reviewers commented on the terrible instructions. Such is simply not the case. There were no instructions at all and instructions/hints were sorely needed. This was the time to contact customer service but there was no phone number, or email, or website with a handy dandy assembly video. So I started pondering the diagrams assuming at this point that they would surely be accurate. You know what happens when you assume. I would make slow progress only to come to a point where pieces stopped fitting together and I had to disassemble, reorient, and reassemble. There was no single set of pieces that were assembled only once. Better labeling and a verbal heads up on what was happening would have been invaluable but alas there were no instructions. Hour after hour I continued. Back and forth, assemble, disassemble, reassemble. Finally I had the chair together and began pondering the next phase when I discovered an important part that could only be added at the very beginning. By this time I was carrying on a running and colorful conversation with the chair, the manufacturer, and the peddler. A couple of veterans from Navy Relief came to the front door, heard me talking, and left blushing without knocking. Truly, my hat comes off to the fellow that finished in only three or four hours. From start to completion of the chair (not the whole assembly) took me 8.5 hours, not counting breaks and dinner. I took the second day off and on the third day put together the support system. At last I had come to some of the wooden parts that were labeled, however the diagrams had no labels. Did I mention there were no instructions? This actually went fairly smoothly. Another hour and a half and I had the whole thing together. Now on to a review of the actual product. I suppose that I may be more picky than most but when something is being peddled as a chair I think in terms of furniture. I really don't expect furniture to have splinters or broken chunks glued together poorly. I do expect some modicum of a finish. I was disappointed on all counts. Moreover, the manufacturing tolerances were basically nonexistent. Parts that clearly should have fit together cleanly were off by 10 to 20 centimeters or no effort was made to have them fit at all. All this was for my wife's birthday. The chair has tipped over three times in the first couple of days. In the end the chair was fundamentally a good idea that was poorly designed and horribly executed.

Some assembly required (understatement)
The chair is extremely comfortable, and believe me it needs to be because after the 3 hours it takes to put together you'll need to sit down for a while. I've been a carpenter, a boat builder and a mason and this foolish thing challenged my sanity. Once complete I felt as if I had just climbed Mount Everest. Great chair but be patient. It's definitely constructed from cheap Chinese laminated wood and does splinter. I'm sure it's not going to hold up well from the UV rays of the sun. It's life will be spent mostly in the shade under our second story deck. The comfort is great, the assembly is torture. I went in with an open mind reading previous reviews but thought, how tough could it be? I know it's put together right because I assembled it about five times! Be sure to slide the seat webbing on before putting any cross members or armrests on. I do recommend it, but go into it on a good day, when everything's going right! Good Luck 👍

The wood was splitting and causing splinters

Dry / Cracked Wood
Great looking but hard to put together. The wood was very old / dry and cracked. Not a smooth surface....splinters. Not sure it will hold my 130 lbs.

15 minutes is comfort.
Ordered this in March and just put it together. Lasted 15 minutes.... Wooden backrest split in half where the screws go. Not able to use at all. Now I found out that since I ordered it in March and just put it together, it isn't eligible for a refund or replacement! So very unhappy today with this company.
