Taking the Red Pill: Science, Philosophy and the Religion in the Matrix

A very expensive pre requisite. Did enjoy reading this book though, and gives me some understanding of the course work expected.

Philosophy and religion should be subjects anyone can talk about. The film helped and this book helps even more. Excellent book and I would recommend it to anyone looking at religion, philosophy, political philosophy and anyone who wants to understand the complexity of any film.

As a big fan of the Matrix, I was very keen on diving deep into the science behind it. Many of the essays are very interesting but there's a lot of repetition of the same few quotes / scenes to hinge the same idea.I wouldn't read it like a book; pick it up once in a while and read an essay or two - let it sink in - move on.

It has not yet arrived so I cannot evluate the book, only the delivery which may be because of holiday season, or just bad delivery.

マトリックスにでてくるボードリヤール的哲学に関する話やキリスト教・仏教との関連性、マトリックス的未来が実現する可能性と近々実現可能な科学的創造の世界、仮想現実空間での美味しい食事や名声のために仲間を裏切るという人間味あふれる行為に出るサイファーについてなど刺激的な話題をとりあげ、哲学者・宗教家・コンピューターサイエンティスト等が平易でしかも非常に論理的な文体で書き上げた知の万華鏡である。映画の中にでてくる人物や用語の説明－例えばNeoは（the）One（まさにこの人、救世主）を組み換えた名前でありその部屋番号は101であったこと等の解説も最後にABC順に載っており、マトリックス・マニアにとっても、単に知的な刺激を求める人にとっても楽しい本だ。
