The Essential Surfing: North Mexico- Guide & Surf Map Set

I bought this guide for my trip to Mexico and it really is quite sad the low level of quality you get for a rather steep price. It's formatted in the most amateur way ever, with full pages left blank and sentences that literally just fall of in the middle of a word not to mention there are spelling and grammatical errors everywhere in this poorly written book. It's like not even a rough draft. The information is somewhat relevant, but not always, some of the breaks are misplaced and just flat out incorrect. I have a sneaking suspicion the authors just compiled this off of the lousy information available on websites that peddle surf spot information. If you're gonna make money selling surf spot info you might as well do it right, I mean come on.Anyway I bought it because of the first two "rave" reviews. I should have realized that their obviously self promotional reviews, and completely nonsense... look at them... they are placed the same day, and if you click on the fake reviewers name they gave 5 stars for all blue planet surf maps... what a coincidence. I'm surprised Amazon hasn't taken them down. I wish I had done my homework before I wasted my money on this thing, Oh well... at least I scored some waves... but not by any help of this stack of paper bound together with words in it claiming to call itself a guide book. Don't waste your money on it.

this is an awesome surfing guide for mexico! i haven't been able to find a mexico surf guide that provides information on more surf breaks in the area. we mostly stuck around puerto vallarta, punta mita, and sayulita and the guide was super helpful in understanding where the breaks were in the area. make sure to check out el faro in punta mita.

i used this guide for our trip along the mexican coast from mazatlan to puerto vallarta and then manzanillo. it was extremely useful. it lists tons of surf spots and info about each one. i will definitely buy another guide from Blue Planet Surf Maps for my next trip!
