This book is amazing!!!! Navigation of life and feelings
This book is amazing!!I read this book before putting it on my bookshelf for my daughter, to make sure it was good. I love it! It is true and on topics that teenagers face/ girls in general. face. This book will help with peer pressure that kids face from peers, social media, TV. This book doesn’t just explain it the book helps with the feelings that come those peer pressures of life. I highly recommend this book after reading it. I bought one for my Aunt’s granddaughter who is nine years old.

A great guide for my 12-year-old daughter!
As her 13th birthday looms on the horizon, I selected this book to have her read through, several pages a day. Then, I review it with her, asking her questions. I have gleaned a lot out of it as well. The part which references how girls can be insecure about some aspect of their looks was fascinating The authors cited Isaiah 53:2b which says, Jesus "had no form or majesty that we should look at Him, and no beauty that we should desire Him." Wow! That was eye-opening. If Jesus, the Savior of the world, was not handsome, and nothing to look at, why should any of us, including pre-teen girls, become so obsessed with our outward appearance. 1 Samuel 16:7 says it best. "The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”I HIGHLY recommend this great resource as it combats the lies of the Devil with the truth of God's Word in the very areas where pre-teen girls are most likely to believe the lies. This book makes the Bible come alive, showing its amazing relevance to today's crazy, mixed-up 2024 culture.

Great Book for Young Girls
The media could not be loaded. I got this book for my daughter, and it’s been a wonderful resource. It addresses so many important topics that young girls face and helps them understand the difference between lies and the truth. The language is easy to understand, and it really encourages girls to think about their self-worth and identity in a positive way. I love how it opens up important conversations between us, and it’s grounded in faith, which is a big plus for our family. Highly recommend for young girls navigating these challenges!

Excellent resource for Moms of girls
Love this book! I am a Mama to two girls. Ages 9 & 13!I highly recommend it!The younger ages of 8 & 9 depends on the child. Depends on the family. My favorite thing about this book and the mom companion book are the Biblical Truths that Dannah Gresh gives her readers to bust the lies that some girls are believing. It talks about friendships, families, your period, female reproduction system. But they never mention the sex talk or explain HOW a baby gets in a woman’s uterus. The author, Dannah, leaves that talk up to the moms. :)I love the interactive format. With questions and quizzes.Best done in a group format- with many girls & moms (or Grandmas, or a woman guardian). But can be done at home with Mom & daughter. Not best for girls to read alone. This book is intended to be done together.Moms: get the companion book!

So excited!
After reading one of the more negative reviews, I questioned if this book would really suit my needs, but as I am someone who knows their own mind and will make my own opinion, I made up my mind to buy this book and review it myself and I'm delighted I did. Not only does this book speak to the age group in a way that I feel is clear and concise, it deals with a wide range of topics that are certain to generate some conversation between my daughter and I. The topics aren't too heavy for this age group, offer some positive messages, and provide a small area to jot their thoughts down. I like the premise and the encouragement for moms within the introduction to have a journal for daughter and mother to pass back and forth should any topic be difficult to discuss in person, but one they may still want to discuss. I'm very excited to share this with my daughter. It will be a great fit for us and I look forward to the conversations that this will stir. Highly recommend. Just wish there was a boy's version!
