A FPS RPG That is A Decent Challenge
I recently got this title because I heard from one of my friends that this series was the pre cursor to demons souls. Because of this I expected a very difficult game and to an extent this title is, however just to give a heads up one can argue that this game can be even more hard because in order to access the map you must go through your inventory. I personally don't mind this since I like to remember where I went but some people might not like the fact that they have to pull their map up every time they get lost Also, another thing to keep in mind is that the map you buy from the first shop keeper you find might not cover the area you are traversing in. I noticed this when I tried to pull up the map for the mines area of the game when looking for a life stone and I don't know how to add more areas to the map. I highly recommend this game to anyone that likes Kings Field series,Shadow Tower games, or likes RPG's that are in First Person Perspective. If you are the type of person to get lost easily I don't recommend this at all.

A dark and atmospheric gem of a game that, ...
A dark and atmospheric gem of a game that, alongside it's predecessors, got heavily overlooked by the general gaming public. If you're a fan of the Souls series, definitely check this game out. You'll have to get used to the admittedly sluggish controls and movement, but once you get the hang of it, you'll go on a journey into a mysterious and lonely place, filled with increasingly strange and dangerous creatures. All the while having to deal with the burden of returning a cursed idol to it's rightful place. In my opinion, this game matches the Souls game in terms of quality and I think even surpasses them in general atmosphere. Give this game (and the previous games as well) a try.

I love a good dungeon crawl
This is a game that challenges you. At any moment, you could be instantly killed by falling into lava or falling off of a building. I like this game a lot. The only thing I don't like about this game is the controls. It does not take advantage of the dual analog and you have to use the shoulder buttons to strafe and look up and down.

this was and still is the most disappointing game in the whole series
From the music to the level design, this game misses it on every beat. It is also the only reason I bought a PS2.

Great purchase
Exactly as described. This is a fun game if you don't need excess stimulation to be entertained. The gameplay and progression will keep you thinking, and there's plenty of time for thinking. The atmosphere is very cool. The product I got came with the original case, cover art, manual, and like-new disc, so I'm very happy.

A Classic First Person RPG.
I had read reviews and watched gameplay footage of this Role Playing classic for the Playstation 2. The King's Field series is intriguing due to it's unforgiving approach of player advancement and robust exploration and combat mechanics. One might compare it to an aged ilk of today's "Dark Souls".The controls are all but responsive, and due to it's age you will likely not obtain a gameplay manual with your game. This provides an obtuse learning curve that would not be familiar to modern video game enthusiasts who rely on a tutorial for in-game education. However, if you're an avid RPG enthusiast, it certainly wouldn't hurt to add this game to your collection.I based my rating of 4 on the overall aspects of the game, not the delivery or packaging of the game. (The delivery was quick and effecient, as always from Amazon.)

A Dark Classic
King's Field 4 is a dated but amazing game that evokes the feeling of it's spiritual successors quite well. It's methodical, it's lonely, and it's absolutely deadly to the unwary and incautious.Would definitely recommend to Souls fans looking for the roots of the series, as well as serious RPG fans looking for something different or PS2 collectors hunting for hidden gems.

King's Field Is Awesome
Though this one isn't as good as the 2nd one in my opinion. They didn't seem to put as much imagination in this one, but being that the PS2 graphics were better than the PS1, I guess they didn't feel that was necessary. Still a great game. Just let down by the last boss.. pretty weak. They need to make another one. They didn't make one for the PS3, and the PS4 is almost out, geez! LOL
