Work great!
I put a handful of these (maybe 6 nuts and shells) into a small jar, add warm water, and shake till it foams. The resulting fluid works well for regular dishwashing and also for clothes washing. We don't fry, so I can't say how well it would work for very greasy dishes, but for regular dishes, it was fine. Even better, I can reuse the same nuts for a week.I had problems with dry peeling skin on my hands from using normal dishwashing liquid, but these cause no problem at all. My first time buying soapnuts, and I'm very happy with them.Don't worry if you get a bag that seems to have a lot of broken shells and fewer actual nuts. The shells are the part that does the work, anyway!

They work for me
These are just as good as another brand I have tried in the past. The thing with 'soap nuts' that some disappointed people don't know is that it's not the nuts themselves that contain the soapy substance but the shells. So yes it's a misnomer and can be misleading. With new things like this, it's good to do a bit of research of what it actually is so you know what to expect. These come in a brown paper bag inside a fabric bag and there's one small drawstring pouch bag included for putting them in the machine with your clothes.I recommend them. They're not a miracle cure for stains and I haven't used them for extremely soiled things like dirty field sport clothing but they do the job I need them to do.I do add a few drops of essential oils that I like into the fabric conditioner inlet of the machine just because I like the laundry to smell nice. But the times I've washed without the oils, the clothes come out smelling neutral and clean. You could use the usual commercial chemical conditioners with these too if you were so inclined.Whether someone is going to like the results of soap 'nuts' or not seems to be down to (a) their understanding of the actual product and (b) what products they're replacing them with. If you go from intense heavy chemical products to something purely natural like these, there's going to be a huge difference, and maybe not in the way you like. On the other hand, they're not very expensive so if you're curious, I encourage you to give them a go.

Not as eco friendly as they could be.
I'm mixed here. The nuts are great, they do what they usually do. Greta price etc but part of the reason I use soap nuts is an environmental one and then they come in a plastic bag!!! Very much missing the point!

All Good So Far!!
Having used another brand and being unable to get hold of it this time, I decided to try these. So far so good - they are a little sticky but that's maybe because they are in a plastic bag (naughty manufacturer using plastic bags for an eco friendly product!) inside the calio bag. The stickiness in fact indicates to me that they probably lather easier than very dry ones. Slight sour smell but no trace of this after use. I pop into the little calico bag and use a few drops of lemon essential oil on the bag before popping into the wash. I also use white vinegar with a few drops of essential oil as a fabric conditioner, and this leaves my laundry extremely soft, plus no stinky washing powder residue to build up in machine!! I pop used soapnuts in a jar after a few uses, then boil up with water in a saucepan for a few minutes and strain off the liquid into bottles for handwashing or even light household cleaning! Then they get scattered on the garden to compost into the soil. Love them!! Spending about £30 in White Vinegar, soapnuts & essential oil lasts me about 8 months based on 4-5 washes per week. For traditional Fairy Washing Liquid and Fabric Conditioner I would spend an average of £12 a month, so £96 for same time period. Win Win!! Plus can change scent by using different oils :)

No more itching
I suffer badly from scents chemicals purfume etc...I have tried a lot of products that state they havent got anything in but still made me itch/irritableThis product is not the best of smells when getting out of the bag but nothing harshonce washed no scent no crawling up the walls with itching skin and no nasty smells it cleans ok as far as I'm concerned and would def recommend the best I have found so far hopefully this stays this way as some products I have used in the past they seem to want to change the ingredients without mentioning and I end up suffering so please keep as it is

Stained my light washing
These soap nuts stained my lighter washing! It left brown patches on lighter clothing (including a brand new jumper). To be sure, I did a second load, with an old, but white towel, and again, light brown patches all over.On inspection, you can see that the free wash bag supplied with the soap nuts is also stained by the soap nuts.So disappointed! And unfortunately this Amazing supplier does not offer a Return or Refund, so £10 wasted.
