Expandable Garden Hose with Solid Brass Connector and 10 Pattern Spray Gun - 100FT(30M) Red

Of the three expanding hoses I've bought these past 18 months, this looks like being the best by far. By which I mean it still works well since receiving it late May. The other two worked for a few weeks in one case and a few more weeks in another - but they didn't have the solidity of this hose. OK, it arrived with one end reduced to its component springs and bearings, but I was able to reassemble this without too much bother. (But it loses a star because it shouldn't happen).And whatever they say the hose DOES kink. Not a sharp bend which stops the whole flow, but a distinct reluctance to open out fully unless you take care to ensure it does so. If you don't ensure the passage is unimpeded you'll find the flow diminishes appreciably. If you do this it's a cracking piece of kit - very strong set of jets from the spray, and (so far) no sign of any problems of wear.I may well come back to this review in a year's time to let you know whether this is as robust when drained and stored over winter. But so far, so good.BUT: TWO YEARS LATER: Well, it's happened. A pinprick leak which has now, in the space of 20 minutes enlarged to Trafalgar Square fountains size. I'd had it hanging outside, fully drained over this very mild winter - and it's buggered. I know it's lasted almost 2 years longer than the other expanding hoses I bought previously, but still....2 years isn't good for £27.

This is the 4th type of these expanding hoses three came in at half the price of this one and two burst and one wouldn’t hold the gun. This one feels of real quality the fittings are of a good quality the exterior outer core is really nice and also looks and feels very good quality however I cannot comment on the inner hose as it’s hidden I guess time will tell if it’s any good I’ve used it twice so far and it worked very well no leaks at any of the connections expanded well supposedly 100 ft when filled can’t confirm exact measurement I’m not getting tape out to test it but it’s plenty long enough for all my needs it also states a twelve month warranty on the product so hopefully amazon will honour this warranty I’ve never had trouble with amazon so not worried there. so on plenty of past experience with expanding hoses I’m going to recommend this actual product as it’s far superior to my previous ones not giving five stars just because it’s new and only time will tell. also just spent all this money on a hosepipe and they bring out a hosepipe ban Sod’s law any chance of a refund until it’s over. 12 months on and still working well still looks good quality and feels solid can recommend this pipe

we have used "another make" for years but it just kept letting us down. this one is fantastic. the hose looks short when it arrives but it is great once filled with water. very good top quality fittings. the only negatives are, the hose head does not have a facility to shut the water off if you want to change attachments, so you have to disconnect the hose, drain it, and start again!!! not good!!! also there is no lever to keep the water running as you are watering plants, so its hard going having to keep it pressed down all the time. Such a shame or this would have been 5 stars. we kept our old hose attachment and it has all the things this new one doesn't.

Well, it's a hose, so water goes in at one end and comes out the other and it expands...so it does exactly what it says on the tin. Other than that, the fittings appear to be robust and there's no leakage so far, Gotta say that compared my previous hose - you know the sort: it's like wrestling a boa constrictor because it never unwinds properly and if there was the slightest kink the water stopped, and if it developed a leak all the waterproof tape in the world wouldn't fix it - this one's a positive doddle. The other great feature is that when not being used it's incredibly light, so add that to the fact that it takes up stuff-all room when stored away, I'd say we're on to a winner.Only thing I did notice was that the illustration on the side of the box shows an adjuster valve connector. There wasn't one on the hose I received. Not a big deal as it just means you don't turn the main filler tap all the way on. So you're also saving the environment...yay!Verdict: with a lifetime warranty and sold at a very competitive price when compared to the other make advertised on TV, what's not to like?

Best expanding garden hose we've used. Used most of summer last year and worked much better than our previous TV purchased ones. I think these types of hoses definitely benefit from being turned off at the tap when not in use though, just so that it isn't subjected to extended periods of time under water pressure.The outer coating does a really good job of protecting the inner hose from damage as our garden if full of shard wooden edges which have helped damage our previous expanding hoses without protection.At the end of the season last year it had developed a small leak from the gun end (we use a hazelock one rather than the stock one) hoping it's just a washer loop issue so will be changing it before its first use this year.

I should have done a bit more research before buying! My mother told me that I should get one of these extendable hoses as they mean so much less hassle working out kinks and unrolling hose. I have a tap on the front of my house only and need to trail the hose down the side of my house and through a side entrance. It's about 25 meters from the tap to the back of my garden. But because this hose is very stretchy, it just wanted to ping back to the side of the house. I wanted to use it with a sprinkler, but it was so elasticated that it shoots back to the gate. So it does exactly what it says on the box, I should have just realised that that wasn't quite what I needed.
