This stuff is so yummy it’s out of control.

This is not American style jam -- it is a lingonberry (Prieselbeeren) sauce, made in Austria. It is tart and not too sweet, similar to a well-made American cranberry relish. In Vienna or Munich you would get it as a side to your schnitzel, but it also goes wonderfully with turkey or duck (or I am guessing with venison, but haven't tried that yet). Great stuff.

I’m sure the package was mishandled. It was sealed somewhat properly. I just wish they vacuum sealed it or did like a plastic wrap to keep it from opening during transportation. Still yummy lol

The sour and sweet flavor of this lingonberry sauce is wonderful, not too sweet like a jam and the berries are whole, not mashed. Even the consistency is perfect, not too stiff with loads of pectin you ordinarily find in jellies and jams which is why it’s a sauce.If you’re the kind of person that likes the tartness of rhubarb pie or are someone who can’t get enough of cranberry sauce at Thanksgiving, you’ll love this. It’s more complex than cranberry sauce. I even detect a subtle smokiness from the berries.For a special Thanksgiving dinner, this lingonberry sauce would be a notch up from ordinary cranberry sauce and would add a little wow factor to the dinner.I read it’s great with schnitzel but after tasting it, I can have it all on it’s own, with nothing but a good cup of tea.

Very tasty. Not too sweet. Good with danish meatballs
