SAFETY RISK WARNING! Do NOT use with over 45kg weight total!!
I bought these a year ago and originally I liked them! They are fast and easy to use for changing out weights. But today I had a rude awakening as to the high accident-potential for these.I had my bar loaded with 50kg for deadlifts. Not a lot of weight as far as weightlifting goes. I finished my deadlift set, walked the bar over a few feet to set it down, and on the way one side of the weight plates slid off the bar completely. The unweighted side shot up and the other side slid down too. I narrowly escaped getting hit in the face with the metal bar!I examined my Greententljs clips and discovered that BOTH were still firmly locked in the closed position. They had slid off because they couldn't handle the pressure of the weights.Be aware that these are a big safety risk if you're lifting anything over 45kg! I was extremely lucky I wasn't doing barbell squats or overhead presses when this happened - I could have been seriously injured.Be warned and do not consider these as suitable clips if you plan to lift anything over 45kgs!

Works as-is on threaded bars but too tight for smooth bars
After reading reviews, I realized what I was getting and that I could modify as needed, but people should understand the fit on various bars before buying.Smooth 1" bars: Many reviews complain about this clamp being too tight or breaking when clamping on their bar, which is an issue. As received, the rubber is so thick that clamping on a regular smooth bar requires a lot of pressure. It appears many people just use enough force to clamp it but in a number of cases it breaks from the high force needed. In my case, the fit was also too tight, so I simply sanded the rubber until I got a more reasonable fit on all my smooth bars.Threaded 1" bars: Threaded bars have less clamping surface due to the threads and often run slightly less than a full inch. For threaded bars, I found these clamps to work perfectly as received. These are definitely my favorite clamps, but they may need slight modification in some cases.

They seemed to work until they failed to hold
They seemed to work until they failed to hold 45lbs on the right side of my bar that I happened to lean a little to far to the right when placing back on the rack. A 10lb weight from the bar resulted in attached. I am partly at fault, however, they should have been able to hold the weights in place.

It's funny how standard size bars aren't so standard...measure carefully
I measured my bars before purchasing and they range from 7/8" to 1 & 1/16". These collars fit on my curl bar, my threaded barbell, my 5' barbell, my threaded barbell, my threaded dumbells, and my 400lb capacity barbell. My 800 lb black oxide barbell is too big and they don't fit on that bar, but I have some plates that won't fit on that bar as well. I have no problem using these collars on any bar in the horizontal position. I don't think that I would use them on any bar in any other position like hammer curls or those over head triceps extensions where you hold on to the end of a dumbell, but then again, I wouldn't trust those collars that secure by screwing them into the bar (not the threaded bar type) either (which I have as shown in the pictures). Overall, for keeping weights from sliding off the end of a horizontal bar, these will do the job...if they fit on your bar.

Great product for the pricepoint.
Really happy with my purchase! I am a frequent body pump attendee and at my local gym quality clips are usually stolen or taken right off the bat! With that being said, I opted for these barbell clips and didn't have high hopes but am happy to say they work well! They are pretty tight and seem secure when I clamp on my weights.Since bodypump's focus is "light weights and lots of reps" I can't vouch for how much weight these can help secure on but the max I've personally put so far has been around 30 pounds. Will update as I continue to increase my weights.Tldr; Super useful and grateful for my purchase. Worked really well especially for the pricepoint. If you're buying these to use at a local gym where they have their own clamps (or clips, same difference) I'd recommend getting a funner or brighter color so no one thinks you're taking the gym's set!

1" Version is too tight on a standard 1" bar.
I have collars similar to these that I used with my olympic weights and they work great. Wanted to get some for my standard bars so I could ditch the annoying spring clips that sometimes stick when sliding them on and off the bar. Well, these clamps are not easy to slide on and off the bar like my 2" ones. They are too tight in the open position and it takes a lot of force to get them to slide down the bar before you lock them down. And with being so tight you'd think they would at least be really strong when locked down, but I used one to secure 50lbs on the bar and then tipped the bar up on its end, and the weight started sliding down toward the floor. So they don't even have that as a silver lining. I'm returning them since they are more difficult to use than the spring clips that I was trying to replace.

Pretty convenient
Didn't know what to expect with these; I figured either some very cheap generic collars or something decent. I was pleased with the product's appearance, function, and feel when I first opened the package. They seem durable initially and appear to be better than I thought they'd be, quality wise. A big advantage of these is using them on a long bar, where otherwise you'd have to squeeze a collar and push/pull it long distances. I didn't notice anyone else selling these colored ones, so that is what attracted me to this specific item. I really like the red for a couple reasons; not as likely to get misplaced and blend in with other stuff that's black/dark, as well as being easier to quickly spot to confirm they are on the bar. The retention works well if your bar is actually 1 inch. I have one bar that is slightly under 1 inch and while these attach, you can tell it really isn't 100% secure. Overall I'm pleased with using them initially, and will update if they break.Update: I have used these off and on since 2016, at least one period for about a year straight and they still work fine. Not dropping bars or dangling stuff, just clamping weights for lifts where the bar stays horizontal and I've never had an issue. Again, just make sure it feels secure and your bar needs to be a true one inch.

Fit and work amazingly!
I bought a weights bar from another retailer and the clamps it came with just didn't allow for adjusting the weights during a work at all. (Infact once the clamps were on they didn't come off with out a fight).Bought these barbell clamps (in black) to solve my problems and they did! Would give the product more stars if I could. Well worth the money. I love being able to work out at home and these things made it possible. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

They Do the Trick
The set that I got has been working as intended BUT, the rubber pads on the inside that grip the bar have come off. I bought four of these and only one has not had that issue. That hasn't been an issue for utility though, just something to keep in mind as you may lose one of the rubber pads if you're not keeping an eye on them. I just superglued all mine down and have had no more issues so far.
