Beautiful and Enjoyable Blooming Tea!
I received this tea in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion and review. Please note, my review is my true and honest opinion of tasting this tea. Many thanks to Li Da Tea House for allowing me the opportunity to review this tea.I had never tried blooming tea before and wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I gathered my teaware so I could get started and set to brewing. NOTE: I used a blooming teapot for the first tea but switched to a quart glass canning jar for the second. It really is easier to see the tea open and enjoy it better with the canning jar…..you really do not need a fancy blooming teapot. I chose Rising Step By Step first because it featured beautiful yellow flowers(chrysanthemums or marigolds, I believe). The dry blooming tea aroma reminded me of marigolds and dandelions. I brewed filtered water at 212℉ and used the recommended 650 ml of water to steep the tea for 5 minutes. Upon adding the water the blooming tea immediately started to open. It was enjoyable watching the tea gradually open and reveal the beautiful flowers. After 5 minutes the blooming tea was opened and it was time to taste. The tea had a lovely, rich, herbal aroma. I have been recovering from the flu and have some lingering congestion and noticed immediately that it begin to open my sinuses as I sipped, which was very welcoming. The tea had a spiced, almost minty flavor and aroma that leaves a refreshing taste in the mouth and throat. It reminded me of dandelion jelly that I have made before. This is definitely a wonderful tea to be had if you are sick or recovering. I was very pleasantly pleased with this tea.I tried the Lily Fairy blooming tea next and switched to a canning jar so that I could better observe the tea as it unfurls. The dry blooming tea had a very sweet, hay fragrance. I brewed the tea once again as above. This tea was very beautiful and I quite enjoyed watching this tea open. It began to unfurl and slowly beautiful magenta and orange flowers appeared. This particular tea has a very light floral aroma with a pleasant yet subdued floral flavor. One could probably steep it a bit longer to increase the amount of lily flavor in the tea.I love many different types of tea from oolong tea to green, black and pu-erh teas but I also very much enjoy floral and herbal teas as well. I generally brew my tea gongfu style using a gaiwan/teapot so this was something new for me.My final thoughts: When brewing blooming tea there are a few things that are important to remember. For me, the blooming tea is definitely more floral and herbal than a regular green tea but that is what is intended. What should be remembered is that the flowers take center stage with these steeps, so you shouldn’t expect an overwhelming green tea flavor. However, you will still be getting the benefits of the green tea and in addition you will also get the health benefits the different flowers have to offer. The particular flavors, aromas and tastes of each blooming tea are dependent upon the different flowers that are used, so each tea will taste different. Also the intensity of each blooming tea can be increased or decreased based on brewing time. The only downside is that I do wish that each tea listed the specific flowers that are contained in each tea. I do enjoy trying to guess the different flowers but would like to know for sure too. If you generally enjoy floral and herbal teas then you should definitely give blooming tea a try. It is a beautiful show of flowers with a relaxing herbal drink, perfect for any day and each blooming tea can be resteeped 2 additional times. I did enjoy the different flavors and aromas plus watching the flowers open...that in and of itself is a treat. I look forward to trying more of the blooming teas and I would definitely purchase these in the future to have onhand when I would like something different, like tea and a show!:)

I LOVE these! 😋
I bought these for my first time because I love the way my rose tea taste and thought I look for some other "flowery" tea flavors. I saw these and thought they looked pretty and fun. They had a good variety, and I also love Jamsine tea. My daughter had given me one of the little glass tea pots years ago and never knew what to use it on. Not only did I try some lovely tasting tea, but I got to use my pot!😊 They open up so beautiful. However, not all of them stay sitting on the bottom of the pot. Some of them float. That's mostly on the ones with small flower set up.They are very easy to make. I just sweeten with a little maple syrup and a little honey. Let it steep for about 10 mins and serve.I will order again.

Comparable to gormet alternatives
I've been buying expensive packs of blended blooming tea, it got too hard on my wallet, so I started looking for a different brand that I could afford. This, honestly, tastes way better than the bitter spinach I was getting. The major reason I drink this tea is the health benefits, I have Lupus, which does not like my liver. The herbs in these blends are potent antiinflammatories, with other benefits. Amaranth is even a pain killer. My sister sent me a tea set with a canister of a different brand, and it worked miracles. None of the other brands I tried could work the same. This one does.I have had trouble with the flowers blooming and detaching, because I don't brew them correctly to make that happen. But it's still not as much as the expensive brands- most of the time those NEVER bloom- I have to take a fork to them. These always blossom without fail. The trick to making them pretty is to not fill the teapot higher than the flower will blossom, and very slowly pour just-under-boiling water over the bulb, try not to let it tumble around in the pot. I don't drink them for the aesthetic, so it doesn't bother me.Also, keep in mind, all blooming tea takes at least 15min to bloom. Unlike bagged or loose tea, which takes 2-7min to steep. When the water starts to turn amber, after an hour or so (the fuller the pot the longer it can go), take the flower out. Let the flower cool before putting it into a mostly fresh, half filled, pot. Fill it the rest of the way, slowly. Keep some of the old tea in the pot when you refill it, the flower will steep easier. You can fill the pot higher than the first batch, since the flower is already water logged and should sink to the bottom.Using water that is well passed boiling temperature, or has simmered for an extended period of time, will cause the tea to be bitter, and Jasmine will turn into spinach. Too cool of water will cause the flower to not, or take for ever to, bloom. If it does, the flavor will be very weak, and Jasmine will taste like spinach. Low quality Jasmine leaves will always taste like spinach.Believe it or not, green tea and green tea blends from China are usually the highest quality, comparable to only Japan. They have been cultivating and brewing it for at least 5,000 years. The west world only started drinking it very recently, and our growers do not have the same respect. We don't have the same history with it. Not noble, medicinal, or ritualistic. Our relationship has been exoticism and capitalism. I see a lot of people refuse to buy green tea from China, but that is a flavor-fatal mistake. That's like refusing to buy wine made in Italy.Contamination scares are reasonable, but not founded, when it comes to tea.
