Style:Wide Base High Overhead Stand When you need to rig an overhead frame, the maximum height for this stand is 20.7' (6.33M). The stand is constructed from steel and has metal knobs and locking collars and a wide footprint for extra stability. The stand also has a single leg with sliding extension, for leveling on uneven terrain. It has a collapsible base, 2 leveling legs and 3 wind bracing eye rings. Each riser is spring cushioned as a safety feature to prevent equipment from a sudden drop. Features a combination head with 4 1/2" (11.4cm) Grip Head with 1/8"(28mm) stud and receiver.

Strange design flaw with legs
*EDIT* after writing this review Kupo informed me that the foot can be pried out. I went after it more aggressively with a putty knife and hammer, which required more effort than one hopes a new stand would require, got the foot out and then i hammered it back in facing the correct direction and was able to properly attach the casters. So I will give this 4 stars on the basis that it is a nice heavy duty stand with awesome casters, and the safety spring loaded risers is an amazing feature. Again if the stand had come with the plastic feet facing the correct direction I would probably give it 5 stars. See below for my original review:The stand itself seems very nice, the casters come unattached to the stand however which is where I have to take a few stars off. The legs of the stand have little black plastic feet which are flat on the sides and rounded over which allows the stand to make contact with a floor surface in a way that shouldn't scratch a floor. These feet however have to line up inside the "pegs", as I believe kupo refers to them, and then a bolt secures the pegs to the legs of the stand which then become the attachment point for the casters. The stand I received has been assembled with one of these feet on facing sideways such that it will not line up and allow the bolt to pass through the leg on the stand. I suspected this would just be a matter of pulling the foot out and popping it back in facing the right direction but no amount of yanking on it with pliers has gotten the foot loose, so I suspect it is glued in or something. I've contacted kupo and am waiting for a response to see if they have a solution. I will probably end up sawing or grinding the plastic foot off if I have to because I do not want to deal with trying to repackage this or haul it to UPS. If the pieces all fit properly I would probably give this 5 stars, but I am a bit dismayed that there isn't a person checking for this kind of thing before they leave the factory putting them together.

the 5/8 pin you can turn sideways is cool but the pin with sliding arm is bad
I have matthews digital combo stand which this is sort of equivalent of. its not. Ok, the 5/8 pin you can turn sideways is cool but the pin with sliding arm is bad. why they didn't use normal knobs here I don't know but it makes setting the pin harder than just turning the knob. it also has double knob for vertical use :( thats a slow down when using this. over all the columns seem to be lighter than matthews stand :( but larger diameter. however w/o taking both apart and measuring, its hard to say which is the stronger stand. this is just based on how each feels to raise each section - the matthews is heavier. overall if you are on a budget its not bad, but if you can even find a matthews digital combo stand I'd still go with that even if its a few $ more. This does have a some what wider base than matthews digital stand which is good... FWIW

Want a work out? Lift this a puppy a few reps.
Let me start by saying this rig three adjectives. Big, heavy, and extremely stable. I've assisted a friend of mine who owned the Avenger A5034 and that roller stand is rock solid as well. The Avenger is the same price as this Kupo but it's load limit is 44 lbs vs this Kupo's 88 lb load limit. This one eats up more floor space at 60 inches vs the 40 inches on the Avenger. The height limit is also higher at 14' vs. 11'. The Avenger is more transportable. I took this Kupo for a church wedding and my back hates me. 55 lbs folks. I'm a strapping 42 year old and I sympathize anyone lifting this week to week. It's built to stay in the studio but easily accommodates those big Fresnel Hollywood/Broadway lights. If you like over doing it, you'll get more with this Kupo than the Avenger. But in all reality, they both can easily hold a heavy 1000 watt strobe along with the biggest light modifier you can buy. It's that good and that capable. Just don't think you can throw it in the back of a sedan without dinging it.

Rugged non-portability!
This is one of the strongest, best-made, and heaviest studio stands I've ever used. I use it almost exclusively for booming a 4 ft. strip-box out over the top of my backdrop. It's an amazing Kupo product! Because it is very heavy, I only take it on location when there is wind to deal with.

INDESTRUCTIBLE !
I have two of these in my studio along with a Junior Roller and a Manfrotto 085BS Boom. The Junior Roller is probably all I needed, but these High Rollers go crazy high and are pretty much accident-proof (you would have to be talented to knock one over). The best part about these is that there is a inherent gap between the knob parts, so you CANNOT smash your hand of fingers if you fumble while lowering the lights. Cons? You gotta have some muscle to raise and lower the lights - this beast is heavy. Also, has a pretty high minimum height (58in).

No Regrets!!
OMG! This is a great stand, sturdy and mobile. I have been looking for a stand that was cost effective and easy to use and this stand with the boom arm works GREAT!
