The Empire of the Eagle: An Illustrated Natural History

"The Empire of the Eagle" by Unwin and Tipling is a magnificent book. It tells the overarching story of the eagle and then delves into the many different species, providing specific facts about each bird. The photography is beautiful and actually quite amazing given how rare some of these species are. There are photos of the eagles in flight, in their nest and subduing prey animals.Some books about animals have too much detailed information with few, if any, pictures. Some have many pictures, but the content is lacking. This book has it all - the right amount of pictures combined with just enough detail about each species of eagle to delineate their differences. This is an enjoyable book which can sit on the coffee table or bookshelf - once you've taken the time to read it!I would highly recommend this book for its beauty and well written content. It should be in the collection of any person with an interest in the animal kingdom.

It's not just beautiful photos though, but the descriptions are every bit as good as the fantastic photos. The authors have two other books that I also highly recommend, one on Owls and one on migration. I bought all three after seeing the eagle book.

This is a great illustrated book with so many amazing photos. Got it for my husband who is an eagle lover. Amazon gets a big BOO for how they packaged it, though. They toss it into a box without any proper handing so the dust jacket arrives bent. But the book itself is great!

Fantastic book with photos and descriptions of all known species of eagles, including their conservation status! nice pictures! super recommend!

This book about eagles would be an excellent choice for anyone interested in the many eagle species of the world. It is filled with updated information and it is jam packed with gorgeous photos as well!

Absolutely STUNNING photography and detailed information on these magnificent birds. This book exceeded my expectations and is made of excellent quality materials.

The book is great but was sold as a new book but unfortunately it was soiled (not soiled from shipping but used soiled) not a great idea to give out as a birthday gift .

I want to learn about eagles. This book will help, I'm sure.

Um belíssimo livro que introduz, com fotografias de alta qualidade, todas as espécies de águia do mundo. Sendo um coffee table, é de se esperar apenas uma consulta ocasional, mas o texto é convidativo para uma leitura completa.

Plein de photos magnifiques, un tout petit peu de texte pour chaque espèce, c'est plus un livre pour faire jolie que pour apprendre, mais effectivement, les images sont magnifiques.
