Nani Palkhivala The Courtroom Genius

As a professional with no background or training in law, I found this book very interesting.The book came in generous packaging and was received in perfect condition.The book has been well-researched and has an extensive bibliography. It gave leads to two most precious books which I am going to read.

Law student must read this book the person who save our fundamental right

Life changing and motivating book. It was suggested to me by my mentor. One must read it.

As far as book is concern a must read book,lucidly provide glimpse of some of the landmark judgements in Indian constitution history. Must for anyone interested in evolution of constitution of India. It really exciting to know interesting facts and stories related to the immortal judgements of constitutional cases such as golaknath, privy purse,banking nationalisation, keshvanand bharti case etc..They UPSC aspirants even casual reading which can be done with in 1 to 3 days would help in enhancing answer writing quality.For quality of book- packing was good, pages are good and of same quality some other books of same publication.

Nani Palkhivala was not a born genius as would be evident from the fact that he failed to clinch the job of a lecturer in English literature at Bombay University. But he transformed himself into a genius - he had no foundation in economics or finance, but became the best tax lawyer of the country. He had stammering problem since childhood, but he was the best orator of his times, the courtrooms saw. He argued all the most complicated and most important cases of India's legal history. He had no foundation in political theory, but was, beyond doubt, the best constitutional lawyer of the country. There was a time when some judges out of jealousy tried to ignore him, snub him (read M. Hidayatullah's "My Own Boswell), but later on, there used to remain pin drop silence whenever Palkhivala spoke. And this book is about that story as to how by sheer hard work and determination, a mediocre can become a genius, and of-course, achieve success. I have always been thinking that people who should have written about their illustrious life, never wrote an autobiography. Absence of Palkhivala's autobiography is a void that cannot be fully filled, but this book makes the most honest attempt to fill that void to a certain extent.

Very little is known to people of this generation the monumental contribution of Nani Palkhivala. Getting into his technical area and understanding his brialliant work with the people is a task in itself. I must say that authors has done a great job of bringing the brilliance of Nani to people.I should say that all Legal alumni should read this book before starting his/her curriculum just to know the level to which advocacy has been taken by Nani. Law is supposed to be a drab topic but how purposely this has been used effectively to tackle injustice to tweaking of basic structure of Constitution is a tremendous job. This book brings the nitty gritties of legal cases and beauty of the law in front of the readers.This is technically dominated book. For people who wish to know what damages were purported to be done by evil politicians and courage of Nani...this is a must read !!!!!If you are not very inclined to Law and its nitty grities...do read still as your general awareness of law would be much higher after reading this book.For people working in Corporate area his legal opinions topic is a must read.!!!!
