Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book, 75th Anniversary Edition

This is my 4th purchase of this coodbook over the years. It is the only one you need to have. Never had a bad recipe out of it.

I love better homes and gardens cookbooks. I have quite a few of them.

I received my first Betty Crocker cookbook when I was 10yrs old and still have it. Through the years I have purchased numerous cookbooks but I keep going back to BK books. I am impressed with the uniqueness of the information of how to perform the tasks, what is needed to get the right results, the basics of cooking, detailed instructions and pictures of how to do it, and many more hints and suggestions of basic cooking knowledge. I have purchased many more for relatives and will continue to do so because they are so informative, whether new releases or the older ones. You can't go wrong with Betty Crocker in the kitchen with you.

This new 75th anniversary edition is the best yet. It is the perfect cookbook for the beginning cook as well as for those of us who have been cooking for years. The first section is an invaluable reference section called "Cooking Basics," which includes everything from measuring ingredients and stocking your kitchen to planning meals and table manners. The cookbook is broken down into the typical categories, with an index at the beginning of each to assist in finding a particular recipe quickly. There are the expected beautiful photographs that BH&G is famous for and lots of them to tempt you to both try new recipes and remind you of old favorites. Best of all, the selection of recipes included in this book is right on target for the way we all live today. It includes all the must-have recipes for comfort foods most Americans grew up with to ethnic and regional favorites that we all now enjoy. The ONLY negative thing I found was that the page numbers are quite small and are located on the right border, mid page, of each page; I found this more difficult to use, but this may just be a personal preference. Others may find it easier. This is the perfect go-to cookbook when you are looking for a specific recipe or planning that special dinner. Well done, BH&G!

I previously owned this version. I loved it so much, I bought it again! I love the layout and ease of use. I don't like a lot of the newer cookbooks with all the wide floppy pages, clutter, distractions and internet barcode stuff on on every page! If I wanted to reference the internet, I would .lol. This version has binder rings so you can easily open and close it to add or move stuff around if you want. Plus it makes it stay open easily. My only recommendation for this version is that, to make the index easier to reference, move the "vintage recipes" section that is at the very end, to come before the index. That's a big help. I'm so happy this was still available. And this seller was fantastic! Fastest shipping and better than described.

It was a cookbook in great condition but it was damaged in delivery. Poor packaging. However the seller was great to work with. I got a refund.

Bought this for my daughter as a b-day gift. I have the older model yet that one is hard to get. I was happy that this had a lot of the old recipes and new updates. If you need a basic cook book with helpful hints and old stand buys this book is for you!

This cookbook has great recipes, very well organized and is laid out very well. Highly recommend the binder with tabs - very easy to find things and look things out.

ずっしりとページ数がありますが、それほど大判でなく、 リング式・インデックスつきで見やすいです。 カラーですし、調理器具の紹介等もされており、見ている分にも楽しめます。 レシピを読まなくても料理の写真から今日の食事を思いつきそうです。日本の同じような書籍ならば、この値段では購入できないのではないかと思われます。英語初級の私も、長文ではないので比較的理解しやすいかな、と思います。一冊こんな料理本を持っていると楽しめるのではないでしょうか。お勧めですが、やはり全て英語という点で☆４つにさせていただきました。

This book is a wonderful comprehensive collection of standard and basic recipes. It is great for someone who wants to learn to cook but also for more experienced cooks who need a quick idea or recipe. I grew up with the 70th Anniversary addition and it was also fantastic. Unfortunately, it was not easily purchased, so I went for this one instead and it is just as great and comprehensive. I also love the historic recipes in the back. One of my favorite parts of the 70th and 75th editions (and others likely have the same) is that they include a whole chart of substitutions and other useful conversion information.
