Deliberately sought this out to replace the identical one that ran 24/7 for 16 years without a problem.Quiet, roomy, priced right.

I bought this when I updated my kitchen. Mine is 20 cu. ft. Right away the fan made noise. It was the same noise my very old refrigerator made so I assumed something was wrong. I called the GE repair guy and he said nothing was wrong. So I'm stuck with the noise. I searched YouTube for, "How to fix a noisy refrigerator fan" and almost every hit mentioned GE!! So, it seems it's a glitch for GE and it isn't normal, as the repairman said! If you are as sound sensitive as I am...don't get a GE. Or get it, listen to it for a week and send it back if you hear anything because this noise GETS MUCH WORSE AS ICE BUILDS UP ON IT. GE ISN'T CHEAP...WHY CAN'T THEY MAKE IT QUIET???

We have only had the fridge for a few days but after looking at the other review I wanted to put mine in and I'll update it as time goes on. We bought this for a garage apartment we have in another city. We are not there a lot but when we are we need a fridge and the little one we had been using was more ice crystals than cooling and was known to freeze everything in the fridge. Oh well, sorry for the wandering, but at my age you have to expect that.This fridge has worked great from the get go. It was cool in just a couple of hours and is reasonably quiet. We sleep around the corner and about 12 feet from the fridge and even on its first night we rarely heard anything. So far the temperature seems fine. I rated it 4 stars just because its only been a few days. We shall see...Well, its been a couple of weeks now so I figured you might like an update. So far its great, keeps frozen thing frozen, cold things cold and no mixing of the two, I like that in a fridge. If only the one I have at home would do as well. This refrigerator is really quiet and especially considering it is in a garage which is quite warm, it runs relatively infrequently. All that and it works too. If it keeps this up for more than a few months I may have to promote it to 5 stars!!

This thing is so freaking annoyingly loud! My other 2018 Fridgidare refrigerator was garbage too but this thing runs all day and makes a terrible humming noise that literally is driving me nuts. Sounds like it’s coming from the compressor at the bottom of the fridge. My landlord bought GE because I recommended it since I have a GE stove and it’s just embarrassing how garbage these new appliances are. I could hear this thing humming all the way outside my front door. Awful! Great design, terrible noise. I hope he gets rid of it or else I’ll have to get something else with my own money.

you know, it's not the super high end frig with all the gadgets, but you knew that when ya bought it. It works real good, keeps my food cool in the frig, and frozen in the freezer. yea, it is not as big as some, but it holds food for about 3 days...ya don't need any more than that. Just stop eating so much! I had a side by side frig with a bottom freezer....it was big, and so was i, it made me a pig. Trust me this is the frig, it's quiet, and works, i really like it.

I've had this just over a year. It freezes my produce, allows my peanut butter to get moldy, melts my ice cream, and I even have stalactites in the freezer. You can't regulate an even temperature. Some day it will allow some sort of bacteria to grow and it will kill me. Basically the seals do not. It's needed all new seals from the get-go but I looked into it and it seems too hard or pricey to do it myself or have someone else do it. I will probably just buy a new fridge.Why I didn't return it: It sat for almost a year after being purchased on sale at deep discount, as building my apartment took longer than expected. Wasn't sure where the receipt went and i can't exactly just haul it back to Lowes. But this is, by far, the worst refrigerator I've ever owned.

Quality is very poor. Bought brand new and the compressor gave out in just over a year.

I bought one of these from Home Depot a couple of months ago and I could not be happier with it. It does what a refrigerator is supposed to do, freeze ice and keep food cold. At least one reviewer complained that it made a lot of noise. Mine doesn't make much noise at all, the only time I ever hear it is when some ice drops or the pump runs to fill up the ice maker tray, and those sounds are done with quickly. If you are looking for an inexpensive basic refrigerator, this one is the one you want.
