Best First Bike!
This Schwinn Koen is the perfect first bike for my 4 year old son! I chose the 16” wheels as he is just at the bottom of the height range so he has room to grow into the bike that it will last us a couple years. His peddling experience was between a big wheel and a classic trike, so this did take a few minutes of practice for him to get used to the resistance of peddling this bike and the factor that peddling backwards brakes the wheels. He is 39” tall - I kept the handle bars at the height they were set to and installed the seat at the lowest height. Assembly took less than an hour solo, the bike comes mostly assembled with a few pieces to be added on. My son LOVES riding his new “big kid bike” and I’m at a light jog to keep up with him! It won’t be long before we’re taking the training wheels off.

Outstanding kids bike for the price.
This 18" bike was purchased for a 4.5 year old (46" tall) who is riding without training wheels. Despite reservations that this bike would be too big, it is the perfect size with the seat down all the way and there is plenty of room to grow. Assembly took about 20 minutes and the only tools that were needed was an Alan wrench, socket set and Phillip screwdriver. Most of this time was actually spent unpacking the bike which was wrapped heavily in cardboard and other protective material. Actual assembly time was closer to 10 minutes. The only fine tuning required was the front break and everything else went together smoothly. I liked how the handlebars are adjustable so I was able to angle them inward for the shorter arm reach. I did remove the plastic number plate off the handlebars because I didn't like the look. Otherwise this is a sharp looking and sturdy kids bike that should be good for two to three years of use. I also liked that it came with a kick stand which most other bikes tend to come without these days. This is a shout out to Amazon Warehouse Deals for a Used - Very Good item that only had a banged up box and otherwise appeared brand new for $60 less than a new bike. Most sizes and colors had numerous items on Amazon Warehouse Deals so there is a good chance you'll be able to save some money on this bike. Funny thing is this item actually came with two sets of pedals, when most items tend to be missing parts, so if you get this item and are missing pedals let me know and I've got you covered.

Taller than expected.
The bike is well built and great quality. Unfortunately the pedals did not come in the package. I also ordered a 14” sized for my 3 year old grandson thinking that was the seat height and knowing it would be 1 or 2” taller than his inseam height, but just realized 14” is the wheel height. The lowest seat height is really 19”. Pay close attention to the size guide. He won’t be able to use it for a while…☹️

A Great Bike for Smaller Kids
Reading some of these reviews had me a bit concerned. I believe that many are written by individuals expecting the bike to arrive ready to ride. This is not the case. You should avoid making this purchase if you are not mechanically inclined. With that said, assembly is not difficult. This will include adjusting the hand brakes. These are the items usually already done for you when purchasing from a bike shop. A lot of reviews mention issues with the crank bearings failing. I believe this is caused either by they way the bike is shipped or by kids dropping the bike on its side too frequently after removing the training wheels. That is because the crank housing is plastic. It’s the only thing that is lacking of typical Schwinn quality. When the bike arrived at my house, it was clearly marked not to place the package on its side. The delivery person did so anyway. Before I even pulled it out of the box, I checked to make sure it was not damaged and that there were no missing parts. Good to go! This is a very nice kid’s bike and my son loves it. The bike is fairly lite for having a steel frame. If your kids requires an 18 inch model or smaller, I would recommend it. If you are looking for a 20 inch model, I would consider another model or brand, especially if your kid is an aggressive rider. Good luck!

Easy to assemble, easy to ride
This bike is perfect for my 7 year old. Training wheels came with and bike was easy to put together. He struggles with coordination, but he can ride this bike, with help.

Quality control is whack AF.
Not sure how this received a 4.4 star rating with over 6k reviews. 1. This bike has a LOT of friction. The wheels don’t spin freely as if something is over tightened or doesn’t have enough lube. 2. The left pedal doesn’t spin freely on its bearing and keeps falling off no matter how much I tighten it. 3. The chain keeps clicking from the chain link end hitting the guard. 4. I’m not sure why they even provide a manual. The manual isn’t even for this bike model and doesn’t help whatsoever, so you’re basically on your own. Good luck. Whelp. We just wasted 1 hour putting it together, making adjustments, and another 30 mins taking it apart and putting it back into the box. I thought Schwinn was supposed to be a good brand. Guess not.

great starter bike
Really nice bike. Seat has a nice handle for pushing and dragging about. Handlebars have easy grippy grips. The training wheels are solidly connected and kiddo has jumped onboard and had no confidence issues as it's really solidly constructed. Putting it together is a 30-45mins job. Mostly removing the packaging, which does a great jobs of protecting this during shipping. Brakes are finicky to set up, but that just the way brakes are.

The bike itself is good but it came with missing part.

Easy to build out of the box, but not so easy to tune for a good riding experience. Put it together with just 1 adjustable wrench in about half an hour. However some adjustments needed for the nuts of the handlebar and pedal cranks for a smoother experience. My 4 year old boy got riding smoothly after about half an hour of fiddling around and getting used to the arm and leg motions. Overall recommended for parents with some tool assembly and kids with some prior pedalling experience, at ~200 Singapore dollars.

There are no training wheels (the description is completely deceptive), I can't install the reflector because its base which is attached to the bike is missing, there is no installation section in the manual. Unless the company sends the missing pieces and wheels, I will keep this score. The box in which the bike comes is very fragile and with a lot of holes. It would be a reasonable birthday gift. Please look for something else!
