multi-functional piece
PROS:I love the fact that this table (and stools) have more than one purpose. Coffee table. Cocktail table. Dining table with stools that also happen to have some space for storage. Lazy susan.1. At coffee table stage, the stools tuck in nicely underneath and is 20" high.2. The table top lifts up to 30" high by pushing firmly only in the center of the table, but at the same time, you have to release pressure to allow it to rise up. You can stop it at any height in between. A bonus is that the table top spins 360 degrees (like a lazy susan). At the 30" height, it's comfortable for me (at 5' 6" tall) to stand next to and use.3. As a dining table, I stop the height at around half way up, pull the stools out and sit. Your legs will fit under the table comfortably so you can be close to the table to eat.4. Stools can store items like small blankets, books, board games, etc...CONS: (Refer to the PROS above)1. A small notation that the stools sit on parts of the metal base so some stools don't sit perfectly level. Barely noticeable.2. You need strong fingers to press in the center circle to activate the gas lift. I use my thumbs, and at the same time you sort of have to guide it up and down to your desired height. The first time was tricky, but thereafter, no issues. The 30" highest setting may be too short for taller people. **UPDATE: I've figured out that the easiest way to utilize the lift mechanism is by giving the table top a good push down in the center of the table (but not that center circle that activates the actual lift) FIRST. THEN push the center circle to activate the gas lift. Same thing on the way down too. Super easy now!3. While sitting down to eat, don't lean anywhere along the edge. There isn't much support... at any height, for that matter. Perhaps it could teach us all good manners by keeping our elbows off the table??? Haha!4. The stools are very small. They are triangular. The interior measures 12"x12"x17"(x13"high). The back edge is rounded though, to follow the lines of the round table. They're sturdy as long as you sit centered. The top of the stools stay on by 3 connected nubs which keep it from sliding completely off. As long as you don't lift the top more than 1/8", it should stay on.SUMMARY:Over all I like the set. For me, the pros outweigh the cons. The packaging isn't the greatest. I had to get 3 sets delivered before I finally settled for the least damaged. The company was luckily extremely accommodating (Brookstone). Customer service was very responsive. It comes delivered in 2 different boxes. Table top in one (to which you need to attach the base) and stools in the other. The stools were perfect. It was just the table top that came damaged due to poor packaging. I have researched pricing everywhere and Amazon is by far the least expensive at around $400.**UPDATE: After one year of lots of use, the table and stools have held up very nicely. I have 2 kids (now 4 and 5 yrs old) and only occasionally will they lean on the edge (and I have to remind them to stop) but the table is still level and functions very well. The price has jumped up $100 since I purchased. So just do your research as this is sold in many furniture stores. Still really like it!

I love the table
I love the table. I saw it at Haverty's Furniture store for about $300 more, the seats were black and had a silver button, I prefer the brown seats! Only problem is that it doesn't lift as easy as it should.

Fabulous multi-function furniture
I purchased this for our living room which is open to our kitchen and dining area. It made for great extra seating when we have a party or family get together. I love that it just looks like regular furniture when not in use. I love that I don't have to haul up an extra folding table and chairs from the basement and then try and make room, etc. It's a great cocktail table and the storage seats are nice for throws, etc. It raises easily and it's comfortable to seating. I was nervous about it being a pedestal table as those are notoriously wobbly but this one has been steady. I've been using it about a month now with no complaints. It is rather large so be sure to check the dimensions before you purchase. I wanted something bigger and had the space for it, Overall I would highly recommend this item.

Cannot contact seller
My husband and I truly loved this table. It was rough to get it to lift at first, but it worked regularly for a few months. I went off on deployment, and when I returned the table still worked. (we bought it at the end of 2019, I was gone for almost a year). We contacted amazon to ask about repair and they responded to contact the seller. Well, as it turns out, we cannot find the seller. Would love to have it repaired and are willing to pay for it. Just didn't get the information on who the seller actually is or any kind of help really. It was expensive for us, and it's a shame that we cannot find a way to have it repaired. As of now it is discontinued and reading over other reviews I can see why. I would rate it higher, but the fact is that it worked for less than a year and it isn't filling its purpose. We are willing to pay out to have it fixed, but amazon is unwilling to be more helpful.

If I could, it would be ZERO stars
I originally gave this 5 stars. Even though it was a rough start, we got the table to work. After using it, nope. Less than zero stars. The measurements are not correct. It's teeny tiny. I hurt myself sitting on a stool, so i can no longer even use it. The table refuses to go back down. If i could return it, i would in a heartbeat. It would be great for little kids, maybe up to 10 years old....so sorry I purchased this. Update: I contacted seller, they were rude and didn't answer my question. I only contacted them because the return button was showing on my orders. I assumed I was still in the return period. Very bad customer service!

Nice table - terrible exchange.
Quality is nice. Table had a scratch. Total pain to exchange. Still not done yet and it's been weeks. Sent table top only but we lost a few screws by opening and closing box - that was our fault but they wanted a picture of the scratch (they did not just believe me) - that's how we lost the screws. We reopened the box and somehow the bolts fell out of hardware bag. Giving me a headache. Hopefully we will get bolts soon.

This product is perfect for our kids project table!
This product is perfect for our kids project table! All four stools have storage and the table top raises up and down (like an office chair), to varies heights. The only down side is the table is a little wobbly, but that's to be expected with a pedestal table. GOOD PRODUCT>

Great table!!
Very happy with my purchase! Getting the table to lift is a little tricky, but I think it takes a bit of practice to get it right. The packaging was terrible, broken Styrofoam and parts were loose, luckily nothing was lost. All together, we love it!
