Will NOT fit on a 40 gal tank
This will NOT fit a 40 gal tank . I bought this to try out on 1 of my 2 40 gal breeder tanks . To my disappointment after getting it the pieces that hang on your tank won't even fit over the sides of the tank they are too small. I tried it on my 20 gal long tank and the pieces are so tight they barely fit on the tank. Don't waste your money to purchase these small canisters. It also took over a week to receive it even when i paid almost $9 to get it shipped faster. Super disappointed with this purchase .

Not expensive but works great for my 10 gl. Sea water aquariuam where I have 4 different type of Corals and all are doing very well.

Works great
It’s been going for 2 years, still working great. I would definitely not put it on anything over 20 gallons.

Suction is low and does not self-prime.
Got it the other day as a secondary filter and the pressure is just so low - I got it because it was the cheapest available, and it shows. The pump is not self-primed. You have to suck the water through the pump into the can to get it going, and it only works some times. Then, when it works, the pressure is very weak (okay in my case) - The suction runs out and it does not pump, I bet the pump will burn out any day now.
