Good looks, so-so performance - standing view is useless
The case looks really slick and seems to give good coverage. It is a welcome replacement for my older, faded, boring black case that I bought when I first got the 'pad! It works nicely for typing in that slightly elevated position, so that's good. I was excited about the 4-position fold, to make it fit in my left hand easier for 1-handed reading. It does that, sort of. I wish the cover could somehow magnetically clamp to the backside though, since I find the 4-folded position to be really awkward in my one hand and would just prefer it to fold back on itself. The "standing" position is way too steep for any useful viewing, so I've pretty much given up on that. But the materials are sturdy, so I suspect this will last a long time.Bottom line: looks awesome, performs ok, likely will replace in a few months just to keep things fresh.

the material that covers it feels nice in your hand
This cover fits very well, the material that covers it feels nice in your hand, and seems to give good protection, although we have not been hard on it and the iPad rarely leaves our home. But after 6 months I'm about to replace it for 2 specific reasons. 1. Although the cover can be used as a stand by folding it back and folding it into a tent shape, is inconvenient to do so. I have used my parents' iPad with a different cover and it's just so much easier to simply put the bottom of the device into a slot on the cover to allow it to stand. The other is that it does not have a hand strap. I knew that when I bought the cover, but being that this is our first iPad, I did not know how handy a strap would be.

Very nice case
It's a good and almost great iPad case. I have owned quite a few iPad cases (I guess I dress up my iPad like others would a Barbie doll), and this one is very close to being the best.Pros:-The fabric covering looks and feels great on the front cover.-The case is thin-enough that you aren't holding a brick.-Reasonable price.Cons:-The cover doesn't magnetically adhere when folded behind the case, which is a bummer.-The corners on the left of the case don't give me a lot of confidence in their ability to hold the iPad in the event of a fall.If you are as tired of pleather (vinyl with an artificial leather grain) cases as I am, then this is a great alternative. I also like the Roocase Origami as well for that reason if this one isn't for you.

Good case, some issues
This is a well-fit case. The front cover is nicely textured and holds securely. However, be aware that the back cover is just PLAIN PLASTIC and holds fingerprints noticeably. You have to go to the Joy stuff if you want the textured cover on both sides I guess. The other significant problem is that the case fits very tight to the openings in the iPad. So, for example, the lightning connector port has plastic immediately adjacent to both sides. This means that if you're using an adapter on an old-style iPad or iPhone cord, IT WILL NOT FIT. I've also found that some brands of headphones with slightly wider plastic around the headphone jack (like right-angle connectors) also WILL NOT FIT in the headphone jack with the case on.These are two big annoyances for an otherwise fine case.

Quality Product
We have three iPads (original, mini Retina and Air) and we probably have six or more iPad covers on the shelf collecting dust for one reason or another. However after reading all of the positive reviews about the CaseCrown iPad covers here and elsewhere we ordered one for our iPad Air. It's truly a welcome addition. Our iPad slipped right in without much effort and the case hasn't been off since it arrived a couple of weeks ago.The cover fits our iPad Air perfectly. All of the openings for the buttons, speakers and lightening connector are exactly right. It closes nicely and the magnet is strong enough that it doesn't flop open like some others. The edge where it opens/closes is just inside a slightly raised "lip" so it doesn't catch on anything and open accidentally. The back is solid and the exterior surface has a slight rubbery feel to it (similar to the original Apple iPad cover)...just enough to give a a good gripping surface. The front cover has four folding lines (most others have three) that allow it to be propped up in your lap or on a table very nicely. As in the picture it also does a great job as a stand, keeping it quite stable; good enough to use on an airplane tray table. The cover does add a little weight but since the iPad Air is so light and being used to how the older iPad felt, it actually gives us some comfort by adding a little more overall "strength".It's not an industrial-strength case like Otterbox's or some others, but the CaseCrown feels like it would be able to fully protect the iPad from a drop of at least three or four feet onto a hard surface. The material quality and build appear to be quite good. I would expect this cover to last for several years of normal to heavy use.

Great Premium Case for the iPad Air (1st Gen)
I had been looking for a case for my iPad Air, and after seeing its rave reviews on the Wirecutter and iLounge, I decided to pick it up. My main requirements for a case were:1. It had to protect my iPad, without adding too much bulk2. It had to look nice (obviously)3. It had to have Smart Cover functionality (magnetic closure with sleep/wake functions)I was pleasantly surprised when I received the case in the mail. It came in very nice packaging, and once I opened the box, I was instantly taken aback by how nice the case looked. I ordered the grey variant with the synthetic micro twill design, and, in person, it looks great-it's minimalistic and professional looking. Putting the case on my iPad Air was easy, and after putting it on, I also noticed how thin and light the case was-it was sort of hard to tell it was even on, to be honest. The magnetic flap works great, and the whole iPad Air is protected, including the corners and sides of the devices. The case also has a stand built in, and it retains the four panels of the original iPad Smart Cover, which is superior to the three panels of the iPad Air Smart Cover. It is sturdy when typing, which is a nice bonus. Overall, this a great case for the iPad Air, and I definitely would recommend it to anyone who's looking for an iPad Air case.
